If you're one of the estimated 25 million Americans who sweated over their NFL fantasy football lineups this weekend, chances are around four to one that you're male. That's the starting point for Dr. Sarah Winslow's intriguing Thoughts Worth Thinking presentation on Wednesday, September 30 (7pm, Academic Success Center Room 313).
Many of you know Dr. Winslow from her sociology classes and Hon-ors seminars, or through her roles as Interim Director of the Nation-al Scholars Program and as the Faculty member in residence at Holmes Hall. Her academic work focuses on inequality in society, particularly with regard to gender.
The Thoughts Worth Thinking series is one of many opportunities that Clemson and the Honors College provide to encourage you to learn beyond the classroom. I strongly encourage you to take ad-vantage of such opportunities to engage with a new issue, or to re-think a familiar one. There are several interesting lectures adver-tised in today's newsletter, and in virtually every other newsletter throughout the year.
I hope to see you at one of these events. And good luck with your fantasy teams next weekend!
