ELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The Religious Education Program is open from 9:30AM to 2:30PM, Monday thru Thursday and starting the week of the 27th only on Monday nights from 6:00PM – 8:30PM. Please call 429-8824 for more information. Stating in July 23 to August 13 we will be closed on Monday nights. Registration for 2018 to 2019 is in progress. Please go to the office for more information, and do not wait until September to register your child. We will send out information for classes in September in August. We are looking for volunteers to teach religion to 1st thru 7th grades. We will have a week of preparation and understanding of the material being taught during the month of July. Just come to the classes and see if it’s something you can help us with. Pray about it and ask questions. Our children need you. The date for the classes will be posted in late June. The religious education classes are from early September to mid- May. Please continue praying for our students.

U.S. BISHOPS SEEK HELP

The Catholic Bishops of the United States are asking Catholics to participate actively in the issue of immigrants coming the U.S.A. Proposals presented do not offer DACA eligible youth a path to citizenship; they do not adequately address family separation and will lead to increases in child and family detention. The changes in standards for those seeking asylum would diminish existing, critical protections for unaccompanied children. The Bishops ask Catholics to visit the website justiceforimmigrants.org for more information.

PROGRAMA DE EDUCACION RELIGIOSA El Programa de Catecismo estará abierto los lunes hasta jueves de 9:30AM hasta las 2:30PM y a partir de la semana del 27 sólo en las noches los lunes de 6:00PM – 8:30PM. July 1, 2018 Dear friends in the Lord: Today, we are taking up our special annual collection for the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa. The Church in Africa is growing rapidly, but too often there are not enough local pastoral resources to support people in their faith. When you contribute to this special collection, you are helping people across the African continent grow closer to Christ and to His Church. For example, in Malawi, young people comprise nearly two-thirds of the population. And, the Church there reflects this youthful face as well-the majority of the faithful are young people! But, unfortunately, the Church in Malawi does not have enough staff or ministers to reach these young Catholics and help them grow in their faith. Without support, young people run the risk of falling away from the Church. However, with your generosity to the Solidarity Fund, the Church in Malawi can train youth leaders to connect with and guide young people across the country. Nearly 800 young people will be reached because of your contributions. With your help, the Catholic youth of Malawi and elsewhere in Africa will become a powerful force for good and new messengers of the Gospel. The Church in Africa needs your help to ensure that all the faithful have access to resources to help them grow in our shared faith. Please be as generous as you can be to this special collection.
