Overview
“Dig the Well before You get Thirsty.”
Major companies traditionally find opportunity in post-conflict and developing countries. They have the ability to sustain themselves through economic and political changes that occur in these types of countries. Major companies also have the ability to hire quality personnel and technical experts that can solve most development problems. The expert employees are a sought-after commodity. Also, they are a target for nefarious groups that roam freely in developing countries.
A company is made up of people. Equipment can be replaced, but personnel cannot be replaced. It is the company’s responsibility to protect its people. Prior planning is the most cost-effective method for a company to provide the required protection. If a commercial recovery is possible, it can still be very expensive for a company to shoulder the burden, liability and expense to rescue its personnel.
Crisis Action Services !2
!S
With pre-planning and employee training, company personnel can operate safely with the confidence that they are trained for their safe recovery. At an annual cost of 1/10th the cost of an evacuation, this becomes a cost-effective and operationally effective means of protecting your down-range employees. So, “digging a well before you get thirsty” makes good business sense when looking at sending employees to high-risk areas.

Resources and Equipment Depending on the environment and location of the high-risk area, the type and range of equipment available will be sourced from the best provider. Even Satellite Communications vary in services. For example, Iridium has coverage everywhere, but Thuraya is focused on the Middle East and North Africa and therefore has much better rates for that region.
Bottomline, the equipment will be tailored for the needs of the region.
The following charts are examples of the some of the equipment Trident Star Global has used and can gain ready access. Trident Star Global utilizes small quadcopter UAVs for route surveillance and overwatch.
