>> Umgungundlovu FM is looking for new premises after its lease was terminated
NOKULUNGA NGOBESE>>nokulungan@myecho,co.za
PIETERMARITZBURG’s own radio sta-tion,UmgungundlovuFM,may find itselfstranded if it does not find new premises
by June this year. This comes after the Department of Public
Works terminated its lease agreement withTembaletuTrustwithinwhichthestationoper-ates.
Station manager Muzi Sibiya, said that they are currently look-ing for new premises, havingbeen told to vacate by 14 Junetomakewayforgovernmentoffic-es.
The radio station has been op-erating from the centre since2008.
“Wewere toldabout thepossi-bility of having to find newofficesin advance, but we livedwiththehope that therewouldbea changeofmind. We are not the only ones who will be affectedby these changes, as the whole centre has tomove as well.
“Whatwillhappentoalltheothereducation-al projects that are currently runat the centre? We are also running a community project, andwehadhopedthatthingswillchange,”saidSibiya.
Hesaidthatthemovementwillcosttheradiostation a lot of money, as they have to build anew studio, move broadcast equipment and
contact Sentech to start installing everythingfrom scratch.
Tembaletu Trust director Richard Rangiahsaidtheleaseendson30June,andthedecisionstill stands despite ongoing appeals to PublicWorks to reconsider their decision.
“We have appealed to the Department ofHigher Education, and todate we do not knowwhat the outcome of such an intervention willbe. We believe that theprovince isdoing itselfa huge disservice by removing the trust. The
loss in community services pro-videdasaresultwillonlyaddtotheburden of provincial govern-ment,” said Rangiah.
Department of Public Worksspokesperson Mbulelo Baloyisaid: “The leasewas to come toanend in June next year, but therewas a provision in the agreementthat the state, through PublicWorks, will exercise a right to ter-minate the lease agreement be-
fore the stipulated period, provided that thetrust is given sufficient notice to seek alterna-tive accommodation. The reasons for thetermination emanate from the effects of costcutting measures that were implemented bytreasury. We have had to cut some of the costswhich include renting privately owned officespace.
“In the light of this, the department had tore-evaluatetheuseofallstateownedpropertiesto determine whether they can be used by theprovincial government.”

The Oxford Dictionary ofEnglish defines drama asan exciting, emotional, or
unexpected event or circum-stance.
Evenbreathingalone canbeadramatic act, and so are the actsof walking, sleeping, sitting, dancing, talking, interacting, silence and non-action. Therecan be no story without drama.Weallhaveourownstoriestotell.Ifeveryonehasastorythatcanbedescribed as dramatic, howmuchmoreabout the story of theself-proclaimed creator of theearthwhowas theWord that be-cameMan,theLordJesusChrist?
Hence, one must necessarilyexpect a lot of drama in the storyof the author of life who gracedthis Earth in the form of a manthey called Jesus Christ. Peopleare interested in drama.
If you tell ordinary people astory that is full of philosophicalquotes and references, you aremore than likely going to losetheir interest, unless they are in-tellectually-inclined.
Themajority of people are notnecessarily interested in philo-sophical or highly intellectualmatters.
If you want to tell them some-thing that is philosophical or re-quires them to think deeply andinterpret what they are beingtold, it must be presented bysomeone forwhom they have re-spect, look up to or like.
The story you are tellingmusthave a clear storyline and be insimplified language, (with moreaction than talking if it is a filmscript), failingwhich you risk notbeingunderstoodbyyour readeror audience.
Christ uses parables, and hisfollowers are interested in hear-ing what he has to say, not somuch because he is easy to fath-omorunderstand,butbecauseofthe person he is, was or alwaysbe, as a God in man.
Obviously, they would not beinterested to hearwhat he has tosay if he is not a healer or helper,
if he doesnot raise the dead, if hedoes not heal the sick, walks onsea water, orders the storm andthe wind to be quiet, and dupli-cates food for the multitudes toeat.
In theHoly Bible, his discipleswant to know why he uses para-bles when teaching, effectivelysuggesting that He is risking notbeingunderstoodbytheordinaryfolk.
He replies by saying that itdoes not matter because notmany will see heaven after all!But he does explain some of theparables tohiswouldbepromot-ers and these are a useful part oftheHolyBible toexplainwhat thegood Lord was saying to us.
The story of human liferevolves around drama. We areborn, we live and we die, or exitthe stage of life, and our childrenandtheirchildrenremainbehindto tell the story of our lives.Christ’s story was precisely likethat, and even more than that.
Hewasborn, helived, hedied, and hewas resurrected from thedead. Andhis followers fromdif-ferent denominations the worldover are telling the story of theircommon master as they seek toemulatehim, andbe likehimandrepresent him in the Earth.
Onecan’tbutcelebratethesto-ryofthisancientJesuwhoactual-ly cemented his family ofChristianfollowersthataretodayspread all over the world, working in different languagesand operating within differentcultures.
Iamfascinatedbythedramat-iceventsandwayof thinking thatispromulgatedbythisChristwhostarted and sustained this divinemission before and after he haddied a physical death on thecross, and buried for three daysin accordance with prophesy.
Hence he is worshipped, talked about and his representa-tives are preaching and singinghispraisesandhonour to theglo-ry of his father, thealmightyGod.
Ngabantulaba nomayizilwane?
AYIKHO into engiphatha kabuhlungu njengokubonaumuntu ehlukumeza omunye. Angisayiphathi eyokuhlukumeza izingane.
Imibiko yokuhlukunyezwa kwezingane ezindaweniezizungezeidolobhalaseThekwiningeledluleihlasimulisa umzimba. Futhi uma ngingalimisa lithi mpo,le mibiko iya ‘nyanyisa’.
Lena yimibiko ekwenza uzibuze ukuthi laba bantubangabantu ngempela noma yizilwane? Uma bengabantu ngempela, ngabe banazo izingane noma cha?
Ngaphandle nje kokuthi uhulumeni wakuvalaukujeziswa kwabafundi ngokuthi bashaywe, ngumuntu onjani, noma nguthisha onjani ongajezisa ingane ngokuthi athi ayigaqe ngamadolo etiyeleni? Angakwenza lokho kweyakhe ingane?
Abazali bazothemba kanjani ukuthi izingane zaboziphephile ezikoleni uma laba bantu ezishiywe ezandleni zabo bezihlukumeza kanje?
Sekuzolahleka isikhathi esiningi kugqigqwaenkantolo esikhundleni sokuthi ngabe izingane ziyafunda, nabazali bephula emsebenzini beya ecalenilesiphukuphuku.
Uma ecabanga lo thisha, ziyomkhumbula njengomuntu onjani uma sezikhulile lezi zingane, zibuka izilonda zazo, zicabanga ukuthi zazithola kanjani?
Bese kuzoba yilona wesifazane okubikwa ukuthiunele athole imali yesondlo, ashaye achithe. Mihlolamini nje yona le? Manyala mani? Sies! Ngumuntuwesifazane ngempela noma yisidididi.
Ngike ngizwe abesifazane bekhala ngezinsekauma bebona noma bezwa into ebuhlungu. Angikholwa ukuthi lona unazo lezo zinseka.
ENdwedwe kubikwa umlisa ozame ukuzenza uMichael Schumacher ngogandaganda, kanti uzobulalaizingane ezine zandawonye, maqedane wagcwala iz
intaba. Lolu daba lulotshwe esathungathwa ngamaphoyisa. Umthakathi phela lo. Uyeka imfene uzogibela ugandaganda!
Kanti ngempela kwenzekeni ezweni? Kwenzekenibakithi? Hawu! Sicela abatoliki beBhayibhelibasiphenyele ukuthi uNkulunkulu wayemdedelelaniuSathane azokwenza yonke le ‘f+#%up’ emhlabeni.
Mhlambe kulezi ngane eziphucwe yisidwanyampuphu impilo yazo, kukhona amajaji, omengameli, abefundisi, osomabhizinisi nothisha bakusasa. Sengathi uNkulunkulu angabathoba amanxeba bonkeabazali bezingane ezilimele nalabo abashonelwe.
Siyambonga uNkk. Weziwe Thusi onguNgqongqoshe wezokuThuthukiswa koMphakathiKwaZuluNatal ngokusukumela phezulu odabeni lwa‘mfazi ongemama’ ogruva ngemali yezingane.
Mhlawumbe ngabe kungcono ukuthi kusaphila i‘Lembe eleqa amanye amalembe ngokukhalipha’, libuqede bonke lobu budlwembe.
UMfu. Drummond Geveza waseWeseli, osewathatha umhlalaphansi, oseziphumulele eGamalakheeningizimu yesifundazwe, uthe uyabadabukela labantu abahlukumeza izingane ngoba bazicelela ulakalukaSomandla.
