se vertonings goed bygewoon is sowel as Son-dag se Skaapkop-langtafel-ete.

About 250 Grade 11 and 12 learners from Nel-son Mandela Bay and surrounding areas areexposed to the various fields of science at thisyear’s Science Discovery Week at NelsonMandela Metropolitan University.Faculty of Science Public Relations intern
Nolusindiso Hleko says the purpose ofScience Discovery Week, which ends tomor-row, is to introduce learners to the fascinat-ing fields of science in a fun and informal set-ting.“One of the major benefits for learners is
getting exposed to the different science fieldsbefore they apply for tertiary education.“It is an opportunity for them to get
more information to make a more informeddecision when choosing a science course to
study – because they will at least have a clearidea of what the course entails.”Activities for the learners include visits to
the various Science Faculty departmentswhere they participate in subject-specific ex-periments.“Learners are actively involved in per-
forming experiments while gaining moreknowledge on science. This will be beneficialparticularly to those learners who go toschools that don’t have science labs in whichto perform experiments, therefore having tobase their science knowledge solely on theo-ry.”The Science DiscoveryWeek takes place at
the Life Sciences Building (Building 127) onNMMU’s South Campus.
