THE HEALING OF TWO BLIND MEN
When Jesus passed on from Capernaum, two blind men followed[him], crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” when he enteredthe house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Doyou believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then hetouched their eyes and said, “Let it be done to you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “Seethat no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.
SEEING
These men could not see Jesus but they knew him. They couldnot see him but they followed him. Perhaps we could say that they physically to follow Jesus without being able to see him physically. They would be in danger of stumbling or even losing their way but theyhad the courage to persist in their prayer and in their following of Jesus.Their prayers and their faith were nally rewarded. Jesus touched their
eyes and their sight returned, how happy they must have been to be ableto see now with their eyes, the one they had known and seen by faith! Aman who can see only with his eyes is not very fortunate. He needs to be blessed like those blind men to be able to see Jesus also with the eyesof faith. What do I see in Jesus by the gift of faith? (Daily Gospel Now,R. Learning tasks?
I too sure?
Reading the Holy
Bible in the Book of
Matthew Chapter 24,
in one of its verses,
states that the day and
the hour of the last days
of this wicked system
of things, even Jesus
Christ while on earth
did not know when.
True to the holy
writings, the end will
not include those meek
ones who will survive
the destruction of evil-
doers. There are sever-
al false prophets aris-
ing in this time of the
end to mislead many.
The Holy Bible can
even be read that the
end of the wicked will
be like the coming of athief. So, no one will
know when it will hap-
pen, except the full-
ment of the sign of the
end as written Mat-
thew Chapter 24 clear-
ly indicates the present
world condition is very
near at hand.
The recent typhoon
Pablo proves the pass-
ing at places never be-
fore been hit by an
conagration occurs
these days. The threat
of trouble created b
the Chinese govern-
ment to prohibit the
use of the China Sea,
as well as the wars in
the Middle East and
Africa are all indica-
tion the present system
of wickedness shall
end.
The end is in the
timetable of the Crea-
tor of Heaven and
Earth and should serve
for those who do not
believe in the Holy Bi-
ble to start reading and
investigate carefull
the message it con-
tains.
However, the good
news is December 21
will not be the end o
the present abnormal
world we have. You
can bet it will not hap-
pen on the said date.
Cheers and enjoy the
weekend! (Feedback

Some tasks teachers
give to their students is
sometimes confusing, ques-
tionable, and seemingly
inappropriate, making the
parents wonder if, indeed,
these mentors are applying
what they learned in col-lege while yet preparing for
a teaching job.
Left with no choice, the
students could hardly com-
plain knowing that they
are at the mercy of their
teachers; their grades are at
stake. It is the parents, with
a greater sense of judg-
ment, who may be quick
to question the relevance
of the assigned tasks, bas-
ing their argument on the
kind of subject handled by
a teacher. Surely, it doesn’t
take an academician to g-ure out whether an activity
would result in the develop-
ment of targeted skills or
not. And parents could be
good at this.
Imagine a science teach-
er, for instance, asking his
students to submit drawings
(not ready made pictures)
of all the human body sys-
tems? The students spend
their time working on these,
get preoccupied drawing
those intricate pictures they
no longer have time for
other subjects that requirequizzes and examinations.
What does the science
teacher expect them to be-
come—painters? The stu-
dents are made to study one
thing, but they are made to
do another thing. The skill
that is being developed is
irrelevant to the subject.
Some teachers, on the
other hand, have been ac-
cused of requiring students
to submit things that have
nothing to do with the sub-
ject taken up. The subject,
for instance, is history, but the students are made
to pass ornamental plants
in pots, or other so-called
projects that may be costly
but are irrelevant to the
subject at hand. Students
sometimes do not see the
discrepancy here as theirs is
just to comply with the re-
quirement. But the parents
or those sending these stu-
dents to school and are theones who have to shoulder
the necessary expenses are
the ones who complain.
Observations have it
that some teachers are up to
exploit their students, like
milking cows. Whatever it
is that they need at home,
or for personal adornment,
they require the same from
students in the guise of pro-
jects. How the students ac-
quire those would depend
on the teacher’s demands. It
could be through contribu-
tions or in kind. It doesn’tmake a difference so long
as the teacher gets what he/
she wants. Such cases have
been reportedly rampant
in some areas, reason why
directives from DepEd and
CHED have been issued
against such teacher abuses.
Teacher-required items
coming in the form of mate-
rial things must be solicited
out of greed on the part of
concerned teachers. Those
requirements that preoc-
cupy students to the point
of losing time for other subjects, on the other hand,
could be one of stupidity
on the teacher’s part. These
are teachers who need re-
fresher courses, needing to
review teaching strategies
for proper guidance. They
waste the students’ time
while depriving the same
of quality and appropriate
training.
In whatever case, in-
stances like these involv-
ing pedagogical activities
in schools should not be
ignored by education au-
thorities. Erring teachers
need to have their attention
called occasionally. What
they should teach and re-
quire from students should
be in line with course re-
quirements. If there will bemore, ne, but those added
inputs again must be rel-
evant to the subjects taught.
Teachers have no business
remaining in their profes-
sion if they cannot provide
the appropriate learning in-
puts to students.
below the standard re-
quired by law. These prod-
ucts are passed under or
even behind the authorities
that are charged to check
their quality to the detri-
ment of the buying pub-
lic. We cannot blame end
users who are lured into
buying such fake items
that carry cheap price tags.
The customer is always in-
clined to take the cheapest
not matter the quality.
Maybe it is high time
for government authori-
ties to start tightening the
regulation of these fake
and substandard products.
We do not want to be re-
peating tragic events that
could have been avoided
in the rst place if the au-
thorities had only been
watchful and strict against
the sale of face and sub-standard Christmas lights.
These items may behelping the poor for their cheapness but the hazardfar more outweigh thecheapness if we think of the danger it brings to lifeand property. Let us makethe Christmas celebration
bright but never burningwith danger series thatignite re than glow to
brighten the yuletide cel-ebration.
People need to refocus
their preparation into theessentials of Christmas.More than the glitters andlights adorning our homes,we need to straighten our
path for the coming of our Savior. The call of theadvent season is for us to
prepare, in the spiritualmore than the materialaspect. By responding tothe challenge of living theteachings of our God, wewould be brought far fromlights risks.

The team includes Carlos
R. Ebora, Engineer V, Te-

Spanish Bridge Program
(PMO SBP). Inspected
was the project, Kagka-

Barangay Cababto-an of
the municipality of Pam-
bujan, second district of
the province. The team
was accompanied to the
project site by Project
Engineer Nilo B. Mon-
tubig, also chief of the
NSSDEO Construction
Section and Engineer
Eugene Moreno of VIC-
MAR Contraction, pri-
vate contractor of the
project.
Kagkawayan Bridge is
under the Spanish Assist-

involves the construction
of substructure consist-
ing of two (2) concrete
abutments resting on
steel H-piles foundation,
assembly of one (1) steel

road approaches includ-
ing road surfacing con-
struction of bridge deck slab and surfacing of the
deck, construction of
slope protection works,
removal of existing bai-

VICTORIA, North-
ern, Samar --- Political
tension is on in this part
of the region, young and
old, hundreds of support-
ers surround the munici-
pal building and wouldform themselves into a
human barricade every
time a vehicle not famil-
iar to them would arrive
at the municipal building
here. This is to protect
their mayor from being
served with a suspension
order reportedly handed
down by the Provincial
Board of Northern Sa-
mar.
Mayor Jose Ardales
told members of the me-
dia that since Novem-ber 27 to December 5
the people supporting
him voluntarily went to
the municipal building
and would stay 24 hours
just to guard him from a
group that would come
to serve him the suspen-
sion order. He too, has
been staying in the build-
ing day and night to give
moral support to his sup-
porters.
The looming suspen-
sion order stems from an
administrative complaint
le against Ardales for
malversation of public
funds, dishonesty, gross
neglect of duty, grave
misconduct, and conduct
of grossly prejudicial to
the best interest of the
service, which detailed

complaint.
But according to Ard-
ales, he had satisfactorily
answered all those mali-
cious accusations, with
proof and evidences –and
all, that would clear himfrom all those allega-
tions, before the provin-
cial board. But those an-
swers seem to have gone
to the winds and not giv-
en weight by the legisla-
tive body- just because
of his political afliation
to the camp of Rep. Emil
Ong. He claimed that
majority of the members
of the provincial board
are allegedly “people” of
Rep. Raul Daza and Gov.
Paul Daza.Ardales sees this des-
perate act against him as
a form of harassment or-
chestrated allegedly by
the Dazas, saying that all
these are coming out as
the election is nearing.
But Ardales pointed out
that he is willing to step
down and receive the
suspension- only if I am
legally convinced of the
basis for the suspension.
I will not leave my peo-
ple who voted for me, he
added.
Meanwhile in Pambu-
jan town, also in North-
ern Samar , Mayor Roge-
lio Tan, is also guarding
himself as he is also un-
der threat of a suspension
order coming from the
provincial board. Both
Tan and Ardales are al-
lies of the Ongs who are
the political rivals of the
Dazas.
According to Mayor
Tan, his looming sus-
pension order is due to a
grave abuse of authorityled by a certain Con-
chita Tuballas, an allegedally of the Dazas, over
hiring and later recalling
their appointment of em-
ployees earlier appoint-
ed. According to Tan, his
hiring and later recalling
their appointments, was
based on a Civil Service
order, and also based on
a resolution coming from
the same provincial board
that is now about to serve
him a suspension.“I do not see the logic
