Advantage

OUR SITE

Page 5: Ici final group

Both of sun and wind take it as the alternative energy. Sunlight can be used to directly generate

electricity by the use of photovoltaic technology for free. There is also a lake next to the site,

with beautiful lake view. It has a wide area and shade. It’s windy and easy to find.

Disadvantage

There are construction in progress next to the site, it is very noisy. Road in the area is heavy and

the loudness of traffic noise is increased by heavy traffic. Road traffic can cause the air pollution

and noise pollution. It’s very dangerous if people going to there at night, because the area has

poor lighting at night. Besides that, the weather at the site is very hot, particularly from 12pm to

3pm.

Site analysis

The chosen site is an empty land. It is located near to Taylor’s Lakeside University, basketball

court, tennis court, DK Senza apartment, parking area and uncompleted construction.

Circulation

Based from the plan, there have 2 different roadways to reach the site. One of the roadway needs

to across the Taylor’s Lakeside University, it may be taken a longer distance compare to the

other road.

Environment

The site is totally dirty and smelly. It is full of the rubbish, chip of the glass and the hole covered with the water.

Transportation

There doesn’t have the highway to connect the site but there have public bus near to the site.

Microclimate

The microclimate shows the wind direction, sunrise and sunset.

Page 10: Ici final group

MICROCLIMAX

Page 11: Ici final group

Observation

Circulation

Two different roadway are not enough for the people. It can create the other way to solve this

problem.

Microclimate

It is a hot weather whole day, because the building are not blocking the sunlight and the number

of trees are just a little.

Environment

Owing to the site is dirty, mosquito is breeding inside the rubbish. The site should be clean up before construction.

Transportation

Adding more buses to different place. The highway can be connect to the site, it can reduce the jam. If possible, build a LRT connected here.

Conclusion

8As a result, the site has the potential to become better than now. Don’t waste the golden place, start to develop it.

Proposal Concept

Page 12: Ici final group

After investigating the empty land, I had decided to propose a concept of recreation area like

badminton court and the garden. It may look more nature in city.

Who is the target of recreation area?

Students and lecturer in Taylor’s Lakeside University are the target of the recreation area. It is

near to the Taylor’s Lakeside University.

Why choose recreation area?

Many students live at there. The campus is lack of the sport activities. The people who live in the

city is full of the stress, so that it can be a place to let them release their stress and enjoy the

environment of the nature.

What kind of recreation area?

Place to play the badminton and a relaxing garden. The students can play badminton near the

campus, no need go to South Extreme Park Badminton Court. It can save their money as well.

Students can just relaxing at the park, like lie down on the lawn or reading book under the trees.

Where is the site located?

The site is located in Jalan Taylor’s, Subang Jaya which in front of DK SENZA apartment.

When the recreation area will be build?

After finished all the apply procedure and approve.

How was the concept of the garden?

There has a walkway to let the people jogging in morning or evening. The trees are planted, so

that there are cooler. There have stool and a comfort lawn to let the people lie down to relax.

Page 13: Ici final group

Benefit of the recreation area

Recreation area is a place to exercise. The people can spend their free time in park. It is healthy

than touching phone anywhere. The relationship between the human will be closer. Greenways,

and open spaces are critical components to protecting and preserving our natural environment.

Recreation activities help to deter crime and help our youth develop into contributing members

of our communities. Programming provided through recreation agencies combats the national

obesity epidemic through the development of healthy lifestyles, strong minds and fit bodies.

Impact of the recreation area

It may hard to build a construction because need to clean up all the rubbish and the glass in the

empty land. The garden will attract the mosquito to come. At night, the people who live near to

the garden may feel annoying because of the sound of the insects. The maintenance fee is very

high.

There have 10 lamp Victorian in the site to bright up the garden.

2. Pavers

Pavers are paving-stone, tile, brick or brick

like piece of concrete commonly used as

exterior flooring. This paver is for the

walkway and the jogging area.

3. PVC / PU

This kind of court has good bounce and anti-

slip properties and can be in the form of mats

that can be easily laid and stored. These mats

are separated into surface, middle and lower

mats, the surface mats are durable and anti-slip,

the middle mats add stability, while the lower

mats absorb shock and provide bounce

Justification

Why am I choosing the empty space in front of the DK Senza apartment? It is a site

which nearby the education area, transportation, commercial area and residential area. The site

may the best potential be recreation area.

Nowadays, most of the people are touching their phone anytime; they didn’t go to sport

activities. Their health problems of them are become worse. So that they can relaxing at the

garden and play the badminton near to the campus. No matter for students or adult, it is for a

healthy lifestyle to all the people.

The people can walking in the garden at night as well. There has the outdoor lamp

Victorian. The design is conform and suitable to all age people.

ConceptThe aim

After choosing the 30m x 30m empty land , since our site is just next to the educational area and

residential area, I had decided to propose a concept of developing the land into a commercial

area by constructing a fast food restauranT. The aim of proposing the fast food restaurant and a

bookstore is easy for the students and citizen. The students is always busy with their studies, they

have not much time to eat their meal. I wanted to build a fast food restaurant beause it is fast and

students may do their assignment at there, because the fast food restaurant will also provide wifi

for their customer. There’s also a reading area next to the fast food restaurant, people can read

their books at there and there are also selling some books and stationaries for the students. A

reading area/ mini bookstore will be convenient for the students or the people coming from

outside. A fast food restaurant may help people to increase their feelings with their family and

friends by interacting with each other.A fast food restaurant is fast and the price cheaper than the

others restaurant. People can communicate with their family and friends when they go to fast

food restaurant together. It may helps the people’s relationship getting closer.

What is a fast food restaurant?

A fast food restaurant, also known as a quick service restaurant (QSR) within the industry, is a

specific type of restaurant characterized both by its fast food cuisine and by minimal table

service. Food served in fast food restaurants typically caters to a "meat-sweet diet" and is offered

from a limited menu; is cooked in bulk in advance and kept hot; is finished and packaged to

order; and is usually available ready to take away, though seating may be provided. Fast food

restaurants are typically part of a restaurant chain or franchise operation, which provisions

Page 27: Ici final group

standardized ingredients and or partially prepared foods and supplies to each restaurant through

controlled supply channels.

Where is the fast food restaurant located at?

The fast food restaurant is proposed to be built at the surround of educational area and residential

area. It does not have a fast food restaurant at this area. It’s very convenient for the citizen if

there’s a restaurant build at here.

Who are the targeted visitors?

The citizen and the students study around there will be the targeted visitors. Since it’s very near,

they will visit very often.

Why fast food restaurant to be built?

This area does not have a fast food restaurant. Nowadays people are all so busy, they does not

have lots of time to wait for their food. A fast food restaurant will be the best choice for them,

since it’s fast and the price of the food is reasonable.

How will the fast food restaurant being promoted?

The fast food can be promoted by giving out flyers and coupons for the resident and students

around there. Next, internet advertising is also a good way to promote the restaurant.

Benefits of the fast food restaurant

This fast food restaurant had its benefits by providing a:

Commercial area for the residents.

A place for residents and students to eat their meal.

A place for people to communicate with each other.

Doesn’t block the wind come through as being built only 1 floor.

Objective

● A place that provide meal.

  ● A place to train yourself as staff to be efficient and effective in serving customers.

● To provide a comfortable spaces for residents around to rest on.

● A place to free from technologies.

● A place to reunite the bonds of friendship and family gathering.

● To make sure people can enjoy the environment and atmosphere at the restaurant

Page 35: Ici final group

● To create a spirit of understanding among friends and neighbourhood.

Advantages

● A place to relax and chill

Having a meal or a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the scenery

● A place to provide meals

People tends to get very hungry after having all the activities including playing basketball, after class , and event, people will come to restaurant to take their meal and it’s very convenient.

Construction

The material will be used in the project are :

BRICKS

1. The use of materials such as brick and stone can

increase the thermal mass of building,

giving increased comfort in the heat of summer

and cold of winter and can be

ideal for passive solar applications.

2. Brick typically will not require painting and so

can provide a structure with reduced life

cycle costs, although sealing appropriately will reduce

potential spalling due to frost

damage. Concrete block of the non decorative variety generally is painted or stuccoed

 if exposed.

3. Brick is very heat resistant material and thus will provide good fire protection.

Conclusion

The fast food restaurant will be a relax and chill place for the residents.

Page 43: Ici final group

The users will get a lot of benefit because people can gather at the fast food restaurant and it

may increase their relationship in each other. The fast food restaurant also provide a reading

area for those who loves to read. Although it’s useful to us, people will need to put a lot of effort

to maintain it which will cost a lot of money.

GENERAL CONCLUSION

From our site analysis and observation, our site is the most suitable for the recreational

area and commercial area.

Page 44: Ici final group

The proposal is consists different development and some of the suggestion. Both of the

proposals have different kind of design. So that, one of the development will be chosen to build

in the site.
