3 The Experiment of International Living

World Learning is an international nonprofit organization that focuses on international development, education, and exchange programs. Based in Brattleboro, Vermont, World Learning “unlocks the potential of people to address critical global issues” through its five core program areas: SIT Graduate Institute, SIT Study Abroad, The Experiment of International Living, International Exchange and International Development Program.

SIT – The School for International Training is the accredited higher education institution of

World Learning; founded 1964

World Learning operates across and employs staff in its five major programs with headquarters in Vermont, offices in Washington DC, and programs in over 70 countries and employs more

than 300 US and 400 international staff

What can you do

• Cultural immersion through fieldwork, intensive language classes, and urban and rural home stays with local families

•  for undergraduates and accredited master’s degrees and certificate programs for graduates and professionals.

•  SIT Study Abroad offers semester and summer programs

•  NOW accepting applications for Spring 2014 Programs - APPLY NOW! ( SIT Study Abroad offers scholarship funds for students who demonstrate financial need )

•  Programs based on a commitment to social justice and intercultural communication.

• The Experiment has been offering immersive cross-cultural exchanges, fun and thought-provoking adventures, and experiential learning programs since 1932 •  Its mission is to create meaningful, dynamic experiences for the high school students eager to challenge themselves and engage their sense of global citizenry. •  Focus areas: Culinary Exploration, Language Training, Arts Immersion, Eco Adventure, Community Service and Travel and Discovery •  3, 4 and 5 week long programs in Africa, Asia, Europe, The Americas and The Pacific •  Groups range in size of 13-15 students per group

•  Professional Development and Certificate Programs: International Education, Language Teacher Education, Intensive Field Courses and Conflict Transformation Across Cultures •  for working professionals who wish to enhance their careers and accelerate their professional development

•  Programs are available in a range of formats and fields, ranging from online learning to low residency, and peace building to language teacher education
