A little about Cheng LaoshiMy name is Ye Cheng (Cheng Laoshi).
Graduated from the University of MN with a MA in Educational Psychology.
This year is my third year as a 2nd grade teacher at Yinghua. Prior to YA, I was a school counselor in MPS and SPPS.
I am from Guangzhou, China. Besides Mandarin, I speak Cantonese as well. I have been living in Minnesota for four years. I love to travel, so far I have been to 28 states in the U.S.

Water bottlePlease have your child bring a water bottle to school. Having a water bottle reduces the frequency to walk back and forth from the drinking fountain and classroom.
SnacksThere is a brief snack time scheduled each day for students to have simple snacks in the classroom. Please send healthy and peanut-free snacks with your child, if he/she would like to have snacks in school.
Homework Policies•Homework (math and Chinese) most nights in 2nd Grade
• 30 minutes of English book reading is recommended
• Make sure your child has distraction free homework time and a set homework place
• We provide 15 to 20 minutes of homework time per day for students to complete part of their homework and ask questions
Please check and sign your child’s take home folder daily. Remind your child to hand in the homework on time.
