Our New Emergency Phone Number - 6556 9219 Last Friday Narelle and myself have crafted an emergency phone system which will operate during electrical outages. After each electrical outage or flooding rains we revise our emergency response systems and have no developed the optimum system. Currently myself and our School Director are reviewing our emergency responses which I will update you about once they are finalised Please add our emergency phone number to your phone contacts. Our Awesome Swimmers Last Wednesday Tristan and Hunter participated in the Zone Swimming carnival. Both boys achieved personal success and were cheered on by Noah and Daley. Well done boys.
Teacher - Parent Meetings Both Mrs Powell and myself are available after school to have a brief chat with you about your child/children’s learning. Please contact us to make an appointment.
Choir Mrs Powell has organised for our school to participate in the Small Schools Choir section of this year’s Taree Eisteddfod. She has chosen 2 contrasting songs and added elements of difficulty by adding parts with echoing voices. The happy song is Bruno Mars’s “You Can Count On Me” and Linkin Park’s “One More Light” as the contrasting song. All students are relishing the opportunity to perform as a group and sound amazing after only 2 rehearsals. The students will perform in June.
Sun Safety - Water Bottle It is wonderful to see 100% of our students wearing their school hats. Well done everyone! Please ensure your child has a replenished water bottle everyday as we encourage all students to stay hydrated.
Lucas celebrated his 6th birthday last Saturday 23rd February.

Learning with Miss T Our new learning space is finally established and our learning routines have commenced. In Maths groups, the students continue to work on a variety of activities which include Mathletics, problem solving, iPad tables games, learning games and hands on activities with myself. In writing the students continue to develop their ability in writing descriptive sentences. One activity last week was to expand the sentence “A dog sat on the mat” by adding adverbs, adjectives, prepositions and phrases. Plus they were given the picture stimulus of a window and had to develop exciting sentences based on the stimulus. Last Wednesday afternoon, the students undertook robotics activities which they will continue this week. The students, who use the EV3 robots, will have the learning challenge of coding them.
Text Books This week Narelle will invoice all families for their child/children’s text books. Please note the school subsidises these text books to ensure reduced cost to parents.

A Visiting Brush-tailed Possum On Monday Bob visited with a possum he discovered in his roof. Amazingly the possum had a baby in her pouch which the children could see wriggling. After our visit Bob was relocating the possum in the forest.

The School Student Transport Scheme The scheme provides subsidised travel to and from school in private vehicles, in areas where there is no public transport available. The School Drive Subsidy is intended to offset part of the cost of a parent/guardian using a private vehicle, to drive one or more eligible students, and is not intended to cover all costs. Please contact Narelle who will explain and assist you with the application process.
