Learning with Miss T Our new learning space is finally established and our learning routines have commenced. In Maths groups, the students continue to work on a variety of activities which include Mathletics, problem solving, iPad tables games, learning games and hands on activities with myself. In writing the students continue to develop their ability in writing descriptive sentences. One activity last week was to expand the sentence “A dog sat on the mat” by adding adverbs, adjectives, prepositions and phrases. Plus they were given the picture stimulus of a window and had to develop exciting sentences based on the stimulus. Last Wednesday afternoon, the students undertook robotics activities which they will continue this week. The students, who use the EV3 robots, will have the learning challenge of coding them.
Text Books This week Narelle will invoice all families for their child/children’s text books. Please note the school subsidises these text books to ensure reduced cost to parents.

Missing Hats Michael has mislaid his 2 bucket hats and maybe your child accidentally took one of them home. Could you check your child’s collection of school hats please?
A Visiting Brush-tailed Possum On Monday Bob visited with a possum he discovered in his roof. Amazingly the possum had a baby in her pouch which the children could see wriggling. After our visit Bob was relocating the possum in the forest.
The School Student Transport Scheme The scheme provides subsidised travel to and from school in private vehicles, in areas where there is no public transport available. The School Drive Subsidy is intended to offset part of the cost of a parent/guardian using a private vehicle, to drive one or more eligible students, and is not intended to cover all costs. Please contact Narelle who will explain and assist you with the application process.
