Attendance Policy
Lab Attendance 50 minutes of lab at least every week Need to attend during these times when a lab
instructor is present:Mon & Thurs 9-2Tues & Thurs 9-7You get two absences. At the third absence,
you may be dropped. To avoid being dropped, be prepared to show documentation of an extenuating circumstance.
Minutes do not carry over, like a phone plan
23
More Lab Attendance Students who do not begin attending lab by
the end of the second week will be considered no-shows and may be dropped from the course.
You will need you ID to use the lab.
24
Classroom Attendance An absence is being gone from any part of
class for more than 15 minutes. Class work can not be made up if you are not
here--even if you have a good reason for being gone.
Missing an in-class assignment or two will not hurt you.
25
Absences Email me if you are going to be absent—it
helps me plan. I won’t give you a hard time, and you don’t have to tell me why.
When you are absent, check course website and read the weekly PowerPoint.
Email a classmate to keep up with any announcements and handouts not mentioned in the PowerPoint.
You’ll still be responsible for changes in assignments even if you are absent.
Ask me AFTER you have checked with someone.
26
Absences from class You can have up to two absences. At the third absence, you may be dropped. To avoid being dropped, be prepared to show
documentation of an extenuating circumstance.

important that you leave work or home on time, arrange for babysitting, or notify your employer of important school matters…
…and take responsibility when things don’t work out.
30
Late Policy
31
Being late is being more than 5 minutes late to class.
An accumulation of 3 tardies will equal one unexcused absence.
Remember that any class work that you miss for being late cannot be made up.
Being on time is important. I go over important announcements the first 5 minutes of class.
Being on time shows respect and consideration.
Keeping Track of Attendance Go to www.engrade.com on a weekly basis to
keep track of you attendance. You have two weeks to ask me to correct
recordkeeping errors on Engrade. After two weeks, I do not make any more
changes. Key for Engrade attendance codes:U = unexcused absenceE = excused absenceT = tardyP = present
