• They learned to cultivate plants and raise animals.
• They became more sedentary.
• Neolithic peoples built large settlements.
• They manufactured products like cloth, baskets and pottery.
THE METAL AGES• It began about 6,000 years ago.• People started using metals like copper,
tin, bronze and weapons.• They heated and shape metals in hot
furnaces.• They used precious metals like god and
silver to make jewerelly.• They invented sail to make their boats
faster and used wheels to create new forms of land transport.
• They started building the first cities.• In spain, El Argar became prosperous
during this period.• People started using large blocks of stone
called magaliths to build monuments. They are also called dolmens in Spain.

Mediterranean coast. The Celts occupied the nothern and the central areas of the peninsula.
• Both lived in small twons and cities thet were built on hills, with walls around them for protection.
• Most of them lived by growing crops and raising animals.
• They are also mechants and artisans.

• Greeks invented democracy and were famous for their interest in philosophy, science and art.

Peninsula and conquered the Iberians, the Celts and the Carthaginians.
• The named the territory Hispania.• They occupied Hipania for more than
500 years.• They have a powerful army with many
legions of soldier.• During that time, people in Hispania
spoke Latin and followed Roman laws and customs.
• They built monuments in Spain, such as aqueduct in Segovia, the theatre in Mérida and amphitheatre in Itálica. They also built temples, roads, bridges, homes, baths and circuses.

CAROLINGIAN EMPIRE
• Chalemagne was the head of the Frankish Kingdom.

• They spoke Latin, followed many traditional Germanic customs, were Christians. The head of their church was the Pope in Rome.
BYZANTINE EMPIRE• The Byzantine Empire was the old
Eastern Roman empire and lived loger because it resisted the attacks of the invaders. (until 1453C.E.)
• The capital city was Constantinople. • Justinian was the most important
emperor.• They spoke Greek.• They kept many customs from roman
times.• The Byzantines were Cristians but the
Pope was not the head of their church.
• Religious mosaics and icons. They built Hagia Sophia.
ISLAMIC CALIPHATES• Islam is a religion that began on the
arabian peninsula in the 7th century C.E. they are called Muslims and follow the teaching of the prophet Mohammed. They believe in Allah and the sacred book is the Koran.
• During Middle Ages formed a grated civilization with its own laws, customs and form of arts.
• Thet spoke Arabic• The empire was divided in
caliphates ruled by leader called caliphs.
