EVPS Values
Respect Honesty Caring
Excellence Responsibility
PLEASE REMEMBER we are an ‘egg & nut free’ school: no eggs,
peanut butter, nuts or nutella spread to come to school at any
time. Please assist us to keep our students safe. Thank you.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
EVPS has a very practical uniform that is designed to suit our school activities. School Council are keen for all students to be wearing the correct school uniform so that everyone is part of our team. Please make every effort to ensure that your child has the correct logoed uniform everyday. We are currently working on changing our incorrect uniform notification so that it is sent out via compass. It seems paper slips are often lost.
There are some second hand uniforms for sale and many unnamed jumpers that you may like to buy as spares for when their uniform is in the wash. Please see the office staff for assistance with uniforms. DON’T FORGET TO CLEARLY NAME ALL UNIFORM ITEMS WITH FIRST & LAST NAMES.
PRINCIPALS’ DAY
Thank you to everyone who made the Principal Team feel very valued last Friday on National Principal’s Day.
EXPECTED CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
Our school values apply to everyone in our school and we would like to remind everyone of the need to practise our values of being Caring, Honest, Excellent, Respectful and Responsible at all times. The adults in our school need to be modelling our school values at all times.
FUNDRAISING PROGRESS
Please return your money for chocolates as soon as possible. The Fundraising Committee are hoping to wrap this fundraiser up quickly. We still have some extra boxes of chocolates to sell so if you would like to sell an extra box and have returned your money from the previous box taken please see the office staff.
PLANNING FOR 2019
If you have a child who turns 5 before April 30 and you intend sending them to EVPS in 2019 please complete an enrolment form as soon as possible. Can you please remind friends and relatives that we are looking for accurate numbers as soon as possible so that we can organise grade numbers and staffing. Thank you for your assistance.
PREPS 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL
Congratulations to all our prep students and staff who had a fantastic day on Friday celebrating their 100 days of school. There was a real buzz in the neighbourhood all day. I will be looking to select one of the amazing projects to display in my office.
SECONDARY PLACEMENTS
Our Year Six students have been notified via compass of their secondary school placements. Whilst we understand that this is an exciting time for our senior students there is still 17 weeks of school to go and we need them to be focussed on their learning and striving for excellence in all that they do.

5/6 SPORT PROGRAM 2018
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT (Year 3-4) Friday August 22nd
All parents and friends are invited to come along and support EVPS students from 9.30am-2.30pm at the Mill Park Basketball Stadium located next to the Stables shopping centre, Childs Road. Please
remember to applaud both teams’ efforts and understand that school sport is different to community or weekend sport in the way it is played and umpired. If there is anything that you would like to address on the day please see Sebastian Scanu who will be present.
DIVISIONAL GIRLS FOOTBALL
On Wednesday August 1st, our girls football team competed in the Whittlesea Division Finals. In the first match it was EVPS vs St Francis PS. Both teams came out strong and played a great match and EVPS although winning at half time 1-0 ended up losing 2-1. The following game was played against Marymede. It was a close game with EVPS
working hard until the final whistle. The end score was 0-0. The final game was against St Joseph’s and the ball was moving back and forth for both teams. It was the final game and the girls were tired. The final score was 1-1. It was a great day with many of our girls playing this sport for the very first time. It was an enjoyable experience and the girls worked extremely hard attending training sessions. I would like to thank Elise who supported all of the girls throughout the training sessions and for Dean on attending the
Finals day and be of great support to the girls and myself. All in all the winner on the day was “FOOTBALL”. The girls remained
positive throughout the day and continued to encourage each other and never gave up throughout the competition! Well done girls!

CUT-UP FRUIT WILL BETTER SUIT!
All Australian children and adults are recommended to eat two serves of fruit and five serves of vegetables each day. A fruit or vegetable serving for a child is approximately equal to an individual child’s ‘handful’. Fruit and vegetables can protect against overweight and obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and supply important nutrients.
Cut up pieces of fruit are more-likely to be eaten as opposed to whole pieces. Cut up fruit at meal times and for snacks, or place it in your child’s lunchbox cut up . The fruit will also be easier to manage and far less messy! Kids – ‘Go for your life’

WAR ON WASTE EVERY WEDNESDAY!
EVPS is sending too much waste to landfill.
Starting next week (15th August) any food wrappers sent to school
will be sent home.
If you don’t want it sent home, don’t send it to school in the first place!
RECYCLING in the City of Whittlesea
City of Whittlesea provide waste and recycling vouchers. Ratepayers receive waste and recycling disposal vouchers on their annual Rates Notice, issued in July/August. These vouchers can be used for free/discounted disposal of household, green and timber waste at local facilities.
Unsure what can be put into the recycle bin? City of Whittlesea has a great website – check it out!
