Namaste
It gives me an immense pleasure to present to you the report for the Shibir recently held at
National Level. The Shibir theme for this year was “Celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Swami
Vivekananda”. Many activities including Baudhik lectures, Movie, drama presentation, essay
writing, public speaking, quiz and informative sessions on Swami Vivekananda were organized
during the Shibir. With these activities, we are definitely sure that Swayamsevaks have learned a
lot on the life of this great seer. Though we are not lucky enough to be living in the Vivekananda
era, we are fortunate to have a fountain of his books / sayings at our disposal. Many
Swayamsevaks who were unaware of Swami Ji were very inspired by his teachings.
This year’s Shibir marks a new page in the history of HSS Mauritius. The arrangements of the
Shibir under the guidance of Sri Sandip Paithankar Ji from scratch to the end were mainly done by
the local karyakartas. This was a big challenge for the local karyakartas who worked really very
hard to make this Shibir a memorable and successful one. The newly composed core committee is
more than ever unified and motivated towards Sangh work and will stop not till the goal is reached.
The second pravas of Dr Sapre Ji will also be written in golden letters in the history of HSS
Mauritius. It was an immense honor for HSS Mauritius to have a great thinker like Dr SapreJi in
our midst again this year.
Sangh in Mauritius has come a long way since its inception in 1977. If we are here today, we are
standing on the shoulders of giants and on this very note I would like to pay my shraddhanjali to
late Sri Madhav Banhatti Ji, first pracharak in Mauritius. Madhav Da had toiled hard and dedicated
his entire life for sangh work in Mauritius. Sometimes the younger generation even envy some
senior karyakartas who had the privileged to interact with this great soul. The name of Shri
Banhatti has been immortalised for many more eons to come.
Sanghwork is God’s work and we are fortunate to be part of HSS Mauritius. I will not hesitate to
finish my writing without quoting this famous saying of Swami Vivekananda – “The secret of
religion lies not in theories but in practice, to be good and do good that is the whole of religion.”
This report has included all the very details of the recently held Shibir whereby a complete picture
of the events shall be portrayed. I wish all the well-wishers of HSS Mauritius a pleasant reading.

Very Brotherly Yours

BAUDHIK REPORT The Baudhik segments of this year’s Shibir was very fruitful. Various topics related to Sangh were
elaborated in front of the participants by Senior Swayamsevaks. During the Baudhik sessions the
participants were inspired to learn from Param Pujya Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and they were
also motivated toward serving their motherland and to be a true patriot. Discipline was maintained
during the Baudhik sessions and the participants were very focused to the several topics that were
depicted in front of them. Some participants, who had several questions to why Bhagwa Dhwaj
was the Guru of Sangh, got their answer in the Baudhik Varg.
This year again, the participants were privileged to listened to the Baudhik of Ma Dr Shri Sadanand
Sapre Ji. The participants were very attentive to the Baudhik of Ma Dr Shri Sadanand Sapre as this
was a lifetime opportunity for them.
The Baudhik Vibhaag innovated and the Yog Nidra session was introduced. In Yog Nidra, the
participants were made to do Shavasan with soothing music for 5 minutes before the start of each
Baudhik session so that they could relax their body and mind so as to grasp the Baudhik sessions
to the maximum.
To celebrate the 150th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, specially this year the Baudhik
Vibhaag designed a booklet and that was made available along with books on the life of Swami
Vivekananda to each and every participants of the Shibir. The contents of the booklet were as
follows:

Competitions
In 2011, the Baudhik Vibhaag had started with the Public speaking competition and last year the
Shibir Geet Competitition, Subhashit reciting Competition and Essay writing competition on Swami
Vivekananda was initiated.
Again this year the Baudhik Vibhaag innovated and new competition like the Vishwa Sangh
Praarthna Competition was launched. The Swayamsevaks responded present to the competitions
that were held.
The Baudhik Vibhaag strongly believes that competition is one method for the overall progression
of Swayamsevaks. All the winners were awarded with medals in front of their proud parents on
Samarop day.
Apart from daily charcha, Informative Session & Baudhik Sessions, there were special sessions on
Management Skill Games, Business Skill Games. Various games and other competitions were also

GEET
The Swayamsevaks also appreciated the Shibir Geet. This year’s Geet was chosen so as to
inculcate the values to the Swayamsevaks to why we should pay our respect to Mother Ganga
River and why should we be proud of this river that is also present in Mauritius in the form of
Ganga Talo and why we should preserve its sanctity.
The starting lines were as follows:
YahaKalKalChalChalBahatee
KyaKehti Ganga Dharaa
YugYug Se BahtaAtaa
YahaPunyaPravahaHamara
SUBHASHIT
This year’s Subhashit has been chosen because of the motto of HSS Mauritius, that is we achieve
by our own efforts.
Naabhishekonasamskaaraha, simhasyakriyate vane
Vikramaarjitasatvasyaswayamevamrugendrata
There is no ceremony held to proclaim that the lion is the king of the forest. The lion attains his
superiority and pride of place by the sheer virtue of his strength and skills. We achieve by our own
efforts.
AMRUTVACHAN
Some popular sayings of Swami Vivekananda was chosen out of which the below one was repeated
every day by Swayamsevaks.
