EN 100282 and ASME / ASTM Nonalloy andalloy steels for pressure purposesStandard EN 100282 defines nonalloy and alloy steels for pressure purposes with specified elevated temperatureproperties. The design strength defined for the grades "GH" in the standard applies until +400°C. The design strength of theactual heat resisting steels (16Mo3 and 13CrMo45) is defined at a maximum of +500°C. In addition, the closest equivalentAmerican ASME/ASTM steels for European nonalloy and alloy steels for pressure purposes are presented.

European steels for pressure purposes are not directly comparable with American ASME/ASTM steels for pressurepurposes. There are differences in, for instance, strength values and the ratio between yield and tensile strength. The tablebelow introduces such American steels for pressure purposes that are closest to European steels. Their yield strength isdefined as elongation limit Rp0,2 in accordance with the American testing procedure for steels for pressure purposes.
