AzMERIT RESULTS
GUHSD STUDENTS OUTPERFORM STATE
Glendale Union High School District’s 2016 AzMERIT (Arizona’s Measurement of Educational Readiness to Inform Teaching) results were recently released.
AzMERIT is the current assessment the state uses to measure student proficiency. The AzMERIT exams were given to freshmen, sophomore and junior students who were tested in the areas of English Language Arts and Math last spring.
Results show Glendale Union High School District exceeded the state test averages in overall proficiency, and in some cases by 17 percent or more. These scores retained
GUHSD’s position as one of the highest performing districts in the state. As evidenced by state data, GUHSD students’ academic growth from their freshmen to junior year increased at a significant rate.
The district’s mission is to prepare students for success not just in their current grade but for their future. GUHSD’s impressive learning system and the commitment of its teachers are examples of why students are exceeding state averages.
