The combination of the database,

tools, and patient-physician interaction, build a

system that is centered around creating a comfortable medi-

cal atmosphere, using a visual language inspired by meditation. The

intent of this atmosphere is to evoke a sense of calm. The tools are non-

intimidating, using amorphous forms and a tranquil color pallet. A pulsing

light from the tools and projector communicate to the doctor, and create an

ambient light that adds a meditative quality. On the screen and on the tools,

the pulsating light will indicate the correctness of the procedure being

performed. The pulsating light on the tools provides a reference without

forcing the physician to look away. The tool also sends a live video

or sound feed to the database without physically looking at

the screen.

This system is based around a database that

makes compiled medical information available

for reference to all licensed physicians. The data-

base works with the physician’s tools to reduce

error and give an informed diagnosis. When

interacting with the database, the doctor and

patient are involved. The doctor is able to move

the database projection from a smaller, private

“screen”, to the wall using motion activation. The

motions are simple and allow the doctor to

move throughout the database without touch-

ing anything, allowing for a more hygienic o!ce

and the ability of the doctor to always have their

hands free.
