A fl ying start to 2014
This month as you pick up your free copy of Underoneroof, Guernsey’s ultimate home fi nding publication, you will notice a very striking difference compared to 2013. Not with the content of the magazine, which remains largely unchanged, but with the way it is distributed to our thousands of loyal readers.
After six successful years of delivery into homes receiving a national or local newspaper and Underoneroof being available at commercial outlets throughout the island, the decision was made to make 2014 the year when our magazine truly comes home.
This is the year when the emphasis changes from many readers having to pick up their copy when they do their shopping or pop out to get some milk or petrol, to being able to just pick up their copy simply when they go to their letterbox.
From now on Underoneroof magazine will be delivered absolutely free of charge to 22,000 homes in the island (unless otherwise advised), and to cater for this radical change in the distribution method the total number of copies printed has been increased from 18,000 to 23,500 twice a month.
As you might have noticed already, the latest January issue of Underoneroof is STILL available at numerous shops, garages, supermarkets and other outlets, but for the majority of the magazine’s readers the team is convinced that home delivery is the way forward.
For all of the magazine’s valued clients and contributors as well – the estate agents, the legal fi rms, mortgage providers and the other industry professionals who see Underoneroof as an important window into the Guernsey property market – it is a welcome and signifi cant development.
Not least because the change in the way the magazine comes out to you, our readership, will ensure that all the latest market information about
the entire range of properties on offer in Guernsey will reach the widest possible audience.
For everyone involved in the publication of Underoneroof the boost in distribution levels marks a fl ying start to 2014. However, this is not the only exciting new development we have in store for the year ahead, and next month we will bring you equally exciting news about our websitewww.underoneroof.gg that will complement the hard copy of the magazine you are reading right now.
When the very fi rst issue of Underoneroof magazine was launched in January 2008, the team was confi dent that it would be the perfect vehicle for bringing estate agents and related industries together in a single publication focused on the buying and selling of Guernsey properties.
From the outset the team was determined the magazine would never stand still and so, over the fi rst six years of Underoneroof’s existence we have now built it up to the point where in addition to current market information, details of monthly property sales from The Greffe, and an extremely useful mortgage ratefi nder, it contains a truly comprehensive collection of properties to buy or to rent.
Underoneroof began as a monthly publication but almost two years ago the decision was made to come out twice a month to ensure that our readers are as up to date with the market situation as they possibly can be. At the same time we have endeavoured to stay abreast of all the changes in technology that defi ne how the property industry presents itself in the digital era.
Around this time last year we introduced our ‘new media’ minded readers to the Underoneroof App that allows anyone with an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch instant access to the latest ‘virtual’ edition of the magazine. Now watch this space for news, very soon, of those radical changes to our website, which will make it even easier for everyone with a digital device to know exactly what is happening in the world of Guernsey property.
