Target readership

The target audience for my music magazine is individuals aged between 16 and 30 of both sex’s, the magazine may also be read by parents or friends of the reader. Parents of the reader will fall into the c1/c2 socioeconomic grouping, however most readers will buy the magazine themselves because they are at an age where they should be growing up and getting a job. Or readers will be reaching the age where they can gain support from the government.

Readers of this magazine will probably aspire to be a musician or have a real passion for music, that’s why they will religiously buy the magazine.

Readers of this magazine will also be of an individualistic style because they don’t mind being different to the stereotypical norm.

The readers of this magazine will have grown up in a revolution therefore they see changes from tradition as being good change, they will be of a race that welcomes diversity.

Readers of this magazine are more likely to have a laid back nature and aren’t as concerned with being in the rat race of life. However, this does not make readers lazy, it simply means they focus on creative ways of living life.

Readers of this magazine are likely to be confident in their niche, although maybe not favouring academic studies. Still bound to appreciate them for their use in life.

Readers are very individual with very different ways of looking at life.

Form and Style• This magazine is half black and

white, half colour layed out in an A4 style page spread.

• This magazine contains interviews with musicians, news from the music world, new releases, prizes, pictures, song tabs and much more.

• The cover of the magazine uses pictures of famous people who are slightly older than the target audience, this is because inspirational musicians are slightly older. The cover also uses more neutral colours, such as red, black, white, yeallow etc. This represents diversity.

• This magazine uses coverlines to make the magazine more informative and vibrant. The Coverlines are a contemporary feature which give a quick indication to the content of the magazine which the target audience wants to know about.

• The graphics which are used are very bold and informative, this allows the magazine to stick out and be the one that is picked by readers.

• The form of the magazine looks nicely spaced out because it reflects the mood of the magazine, calm and chilled out. Also does not need to be cluttered because readers of this magazine will know what they are looking for.

• The magazine will also sell at the price of £2.00 because that is a reasonable price for a music magazine.
