CWO 1-2-3 en Zeilsport
Eerste kennismaking boot en water: Veilig spelen en pret op en rond het water
Eerste basis: Sturen, voorstuwing zeil, balans, waterveiligheid, tm 3 Bft.
Vervolg basis : Sturen, Zeilstanden, overstag, gijpen, inslijpen basis bewegingen en balans, Waterveiligheid, tm 4 Bft
Afronding basis: Verdere basis schippervaardigheden en inzicht. Eerste kennismaking zeilen als competitie sport, tm 5 Bft
Echt leren zeilen: Betere boot handling, alle windcondities, basis wedstrijd vaardigheden en intro wedstrijdregels
Leren te trainen: Verfijning boot handling, en wedstrijd vaardigheden. Grotere boot, ervaring duo/multihanded boten
Leren competitie te zeilen: instap naar Olympisch boot klassen, Verfijning van alle geavanceerde vaardigheden. Groter accent op boottechniek, tactiek en meteo , Fysieke training
Trainen voor hoog niveau: Jaarprogramma’s met training en focus op beste resultaten tot nu toe op grote evenementen. Water en fysiek
Trainen voor om te winnen: Meerjaarse campagnes, training en wedstrijden gericht op top posities bij grote (inter)nationale evenementen
Full time zeilen: volledig gericht op topsport en medailles bij de echt grote evenementen

• Waarvoor gebruiken jullie CWO?• Welk doel jeugdactiviteiten op WV: recreatie of sport? • Hoe kunnen we met behulp van diploma eisen en normen
de jeugd langer laten zeilen en enthousiast maken voor zeilen als sport?
– Voldoen de CWO Jz eisen bij WV?– Trekken we met de CWO Jz eisen ook zeilschoolkinderen naar de sport?– Wat zou je anders willen?– Wie is de autoriteit die richtlijnen vast moet stellen?
• Doen we als sportbond en (zeil)sportverenigingen zelf wel genoeg
aan de inhoud van kaders als lesprogramma’s, normen en eisen?
Stellingen:
• CWO JZ = 90% ‘schipperen’
• CWO JZ = Kielbooteisen van ANWB uit jaren 60/70 , bij start CWO 198? omgeschreven naar JZ / ZT bij start?
• CWO eisen = doortastende lesaanpak en snel leren
• CWO eisen = stimulans sport
• Wedstrijdzeilen vinden mensen eng!
• We “verkopen” wedstrijdzeilen te veel als “competitie” en niet als fun en extra vaardigheid!
• Ondanks bovenstaande groeit deelname aan combi’s dus ……. dit is onzin
• Sportdiploma laat zien dat er meer is dan “schipperen”
• Indien deelname wedstrijden onderdeel exameneis van Sport diploma, meer combideelname

Physical Preparation:
Has knowledge of food as a fuel
Has knowledge of keeping hydrated
Has knowledge of stretching exercises to be used after sailing.
Understands importance of hydration and nutrition during racing.
Understands importance of hydration and nutrition — pre, during and post race. Understands effects of sleep deprivation.
Boat Preparation:
Has knowledge of how to rig a racing dinghy
Has knowledge of availability of class tuning guides
Has knowledge of how to use a tuning guide and set a boat up for specific conditions.
Understands how to prepare a boat for club racing to include; hull, spars, sails, foils, fittings, rigging and control lines.
Understands how to improve foil finish, optimize boat to class rules, use a tuning guide. Understands how to check trailers — wheel bearings, legality and safety prior to travelling.
Mental Preparation:
Has basic understanding of how stress affects sailing Has knowledge of process and outcome goals
Boat Handling:
How to make best use of 5 essentials as crew and helm
How to round marks
Has knowledge of how to steer the boat without a rudder.
Understands principles involved in slow speed handling including stopping, accelerating and sailing backwards.
Understands importance of teamwork and coordination, how to race train by oneself.
Understands principles of steering with sails and balance and demonstrate these principles in taking penalty turns.
Boat speed:
Understands how to alter sail controls both round the course and for differing conditions
Has knowledge of basic aerodynamics — how a sail works, how to power up or depower the rig, weather and lee helm.
Understands how to set up the boat for a range of conditions.
Understands relevance of sail controls and effects on the sail
Understands how to change 'gears' in different conditions while on the water.
Understands how to vary the tuning guide for different conditions and how to create own tuning guide and post race analysis sheet.
Teamwork: Understands the requirements to develop a good partnership
Understands how to divide up the roles around the course.
Understands how to divide up the jobs in the boat.
Understands effective race analysis and race and training goals
Can communicate effectively and can react to changing circumstances.
Strategy and Meteorology:
Obtain and understand a simple weather forecast
Has knowledge of clear air, gusts and lulls
Understands clean air, gusts and lulls.
Understands how to interpret a weather forecast in relation to the sailing venue.
Can create a race strategy prior to going afloat based on weather forecast, tide tables etc.
Racing Rules:
An introduction to the racing rules of sailing and an understanding of the basic right of way rules
