2. Our Brain: unconscious habits and beliefsare thousands of times stronger than ourconscious goals and desires.
3. Biology: any change we make in our livesthat takes us out of our comfort zone causes ourbrain’s ‘autopilot’ the Psycho-CyberneticMechanism (PCM) to trigger our Amygdala tosend a chemical signal to the rest of our nervoussystem causing us to feel doubt, fear andanxiety.
4. RAS: our Reticular Activation System is the“gatekeeper” between our unconscious andconscious mind. It decides which informationthe unconscious mind will show the consciousmind and runs 800 X faster than our consciousmind (400B vs. 2,000 b/s). Scarcity vs. abundance … what we think about expands.
5. Success Breeds Complacency: neverlet up until your Vision becomes a reality.
6. Victims: people who seek to steal and feedoff of our energy.
Our old lizard brain is hungry, scared, selfish and wants to reproduce.It needs reassurance and coaching before it is quiet enough to embrace continuous change.
When in a battle for control, our unconscious mind always wins over our conscious mind.
To lead is to often be unpopular. Leadership isn't a popularity contest. Leadership is about having the bravery to do what's right versus what's easy. That attracts criticism. Why? Because people don't like change. And they don't want to change. To truly lead is to disrupt the way things were and are (in an effort to make things better). And rather than having the openness and courage to embrace the change, most people would rather shoot the messenger, in an effort to preserve the status quo.
