THE HOLY FAMILY, JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH

Nazareth is the school where the understanding about the life of Jesus begins. It is the school where the knowledge of the

Gospel starts.

Here we learn to observe, to listen, to meditate, and penetrate in the profound sense of the simple, humble and loving

manifestation of the Son of God. Living in the midst of human beings, and we learn from this family, perhaps in a manner

almost insensible, to imitate their life.

It is from the home of Nazareth that is revealed to us, the method by which we can discover who is Christ. Here we will

comprehend the importance of the environment that surrounded His life, while He lived amongst us and the necessary

knowledge of the places, the times, the cultures, the languages as well as the religious practices, in other words, all that

Jesus used to reveal Himself to the world. Here everything talks, and everything has a meaning.

In the school of Nazareth we understand the need of a spiritual discipline, if we want to follow the teachings of the

Gospel, and be Disciples of Christ.

We would want to be children again and come back to this humble yet sublime school of Nazareth. Here we would like to

begin again, close to Mary and Joseph… our beginning to the true science of life and to the highest wisdom of the divine

truth!

But we are here as pilgrims and we ought to renounce the desire to continue in the house, the study, never ended, of the

knowledge of the Gospel. But we should take with us some teachings of the lesson from Jesus’ home in Nazareth.

Their first lesson is SILENCE. Silence can be admirable and indispensable as a habit from the spirit, needed for us in order

to communicate more easily with our God. We can learn to love silence when necessary, because we are bombarded by

so much noise, so many voices of our most noisy, and agitated modern life… The silence of Nazareth teaches us to be

recollected and thus have an interior silence in order to be always ready to listen to the good inspirations and doctrine of

the true Teachers.

The Holy Family teaches us the need and value of a convenient formation from the study and meditation of an intense

interior life, where we can often call the Lord and communicate with Him, in our personal prayer that only God sees and

hears.

We are also invited by the Holy Family to have a familiar lesson for life. We pray that Nazareth teaches us the true

meaning of the family, their communion of love, her simple and sacred and inviolable character, the sweet and

comfortable function that it has in the families and society.

Here we also hear the lesson of work… Nazareth, the house of the son of God and the Son of a carpenter. We can also

learn the hard, but redeemer law of human work and learn its dignity.

We want to show the great model of our divine Brother, the defender of all just causes, in other words to Christ, our Lord.

Thank you!

As parish staff we are always humbled by the graciousness and generosity of our parishioners. Every year you remember us with Christmas well wishes, goodies and gifts. We are profoundly grateful that you take the time to think of us at such a special time of the year.

We would also like to take this time to thank all our parish ministries and organizations that helped organize or contribute to all our December activities. From the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Advent Retreats, Posadas and Christmas Masses. If you helped in any way we thank you! If you were able to attend any or all these events we thank you! We hope you grew in your faith and we pray you found comfort and peace and fellowship by attending.
