Melanie McNeice is an Aussie pattern designer based in the leafy outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. Melly’s adventures in sewing were born 9 years ago after she found herself a stay-at-home mum with the desire to still be productive. Melly’s passion for sewing grew quickly after her sister encouraged her to give it a try, and only 12 months after beginning to sew she tried her hand at design under the pattern label “Melly & Me”.
Melly’s goals in design are to create a range of contemporary sewing patterns that include bright and quirky toys, wearable purses as well as fun and modern quilts. Melanie aims to design items that are original and fun, achievable in a day, as well as
being completely useable in everyday life!
Since her beginnings, Melly & Me has grown to appeal to a worldwide audience. Melly has designed in excess of 100 patterns, published her first five books, and teaches across Australia. Melly began her journey in fabric design in 2010 and has released 6 fabric collections since this time.
Melly takes inspiration from her two young children, childhood memories, the beauty of nature, as well as her love of fun and color!

About Pie Plate Patterns
Pie Plate Patterns is a mother/daughter quilt pattern company offering a variety of patterns. Originally starting in 2006 by Brenda Bailey and her friend, Tammy. The company has evolved over the years with Brenda’s daughter, Bonnie joining the company in 2008. Since then, Bonnie and Brenda have published 6 full-sized pattern books, 4 small pattern booklets and countless individual quilting and project patterns.
The creation of the company happened quite accidentally. Brenda had been teaching a basic quilting class in the community education program and Tammy was one of her students. Tammy started teaching with her and at the request of some of their students, they began a new class, teaching table runners and wall hangings for each month of the year.
This was a 2 year journey, as they had to design as they went, but it became a well-attended class and they continued teaching after the first year was over. They had many request for the patterns they were teaching, so they decided to publish the patterns.
These monthly patterns have now been published in compilations - one book for each of the four seasons.
Brenda and Bonnie work well together and have combined their talents and published two books entirely dedicated to quilt patterns for 10-inch squares: “Piece of Pie” and “Piece of Pie a la Mode”. Their four smaller “Pie to Go!” booklets teach a no-sew method using pre-cuts and making simple quilts that require no piecing! It’s so easy! Along with the books, they have several individual patterns for quilts and bags.
Every Spring, Brenda and Bonnie host a quilting retreat in their hometown, Fountain Green, to bring sewers and quilters together to learn, socialize and have fun! For more information: pieplatepatterns.com
