In how many ways can we form a necklace from 9 different but

beautiful beads?

• ½ (n-1)!• =1/2(8!)• =1/2* 40320• =20160 answer.


I pick up a ball from a box. The box has balls numbered from 1 to 90.

What is the probability that the ball has a number in multiple of either 3

or 4 or 5? • Multiples of 3 are : 30, • Multiples of 4 are : 90/4 = 22, however, it contains

those numbers, which are multiples of 3 also. Remove them: 90/12 = 7 so 22-7 = 15. Now 90/5 = 18. However, it contains multiple of 3& 4 also. 90/15 =6 and 90/20 = 4 so 18 – 10 = 8,


Solution . . .

• As we can see we have :• 30 + 15 + 8• However, 3*4*5 = 60, which has been

deducted twice from multiples of 5, so add this again.

• 30+15+8+1 = 54 • Thus 54/90 is the answer.


How many bullets can be made out of a cylinder 14 CM high and 6 CM

radius? Each spherical bullet is having radius of 1.5 CM diameter.

• = pi*r^2*h / 4/3 *pi*r^3• =(22/7*6*6*14) / (22/7*4/3*.75*.75*.75)• =(6*6*14) / (4/3*.75*.75*.75)• =896 answer.


The three sides of a triangle are extended and thus we have 3

external angles. What is the total of these external angles?

A,B,C,D, E are non-coplanar points. How many planes can be drawn with the help of any of 3

points from these?

• 5C3 • = 5!/ (2!*3!)• =10 answer


What is the chance that an ordinary year selected at random has either

53 Sundays or 53 Mondays?

• There are 52 weeks of each day + 1 extra day. This extra day can be Sunday or Monday or any of these days.

• Thus for Sunday: 1/7 and for Monday 1/7• Add them = 2/7 answer.


There are 2 chords AB and CD on a circle. Both are 2 CM away from Centre. AB is 5 CM long. Radius is 3 CM. What is the length of CD?

• CD is also 5. answer. (two equidistant chord will always be equal).


There is a tangent AB joining two circles. The tangent has a mid point, through with a line DC

moves, which is also tangent to these two circles. What is the length of AB, if DC is 5 CM?

• 10 answer. (two tangents are equal, thus mid point of AB is 5, the total length is 10).
