Vivekananda Cultural Centre, a unit of Sri Ramakrisha Math, Chennai, celebrated International Yoga Day on June.21.
Dr. C. V. Jayanthy and Dr. S. Natarajan of Manushi School of Yoga, Chidambaram, and accomplished academic consultants for yoga curriculum development in several universities, were the chief guests, and gave illuminating presentations on ‘Yoga for a powerful mind’ and ‘Yoga for a healthy lifestyle’.
There was a group yoga demonstration by 102 students of Polytechnic College of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Mylapore, Chennai, apart from the current and ex-students of yoga course conducted at the Centre. School students who were gold and silver medal winners at the state and national level yoga competitions gave excellent demonstration of artistic and rhythmic yoga (Selvan R. Arjun, 10th std of C.D. NayagamT.Nagar Higher Secondary School, T. Nagar, Chennai, Selvan A. Pranav of 6th std, Selvi S. Jayashree of 8th std, SelviCharuPrabhaof 8th stdof VellammalVidyalaya, Annanagar, Chennai, A.
