Bauer Media Group

Bauer Media Group is a company who has over 300 magazines in 15 different countries as well as TV and radio stations. This company was founded in Germany in 1875. The publisher is named Yvonne Bauer. They published women’s weeklies and TV listing magazine. They started publishing Q in the UK as a monthly they also had Q radio and Q TV and have started a annual music awards in the UK called Q Awards in 2010. Kerrang radio was launched in 2004. Q TV channel started in 2005 and consist of music videos.

International Publishing Company (IPC Media)This company started in 1968.IPC is a UK leading magazine. This magazine sells about 350 million copies each year.This company has about five different divisions; women’s weeklies such as Now Magazine. Leisure such as Inspire. Men’s lifestyle and entertainment such as Ignite!, Women’s lifestyle and home interest such as SouthBank. Portfolio of television titles such as TX. They own Music Magazines such as NME, Guitar and Bass.

Wenner Media

In 1967 the magazine Rolling Stone’s was created and founded in San Francisco, California by Jann Wenner. He is still the chier editor and music critic, Ralph J. Gleason. In the 1990’s they change the style and layout of the magazine to appeal to a younger audience. Rolling Stones opened a restaurant in Los Angeles in Decmber 2009 and included a night club downstairs which opened on weekends but the restaurant sadly closed down in 2013.

Spin Media

The magazine Vibe is a music magazine created by Quincy Jones in 1993 and was in partnership with Time inc at the time. Then in 2009 after first closing down is was taken over by InterMedia Partners to republish it. Finally in 2013 it was brought by a company called Spin Media. Its issued every month and It is based in New York city. Spin Media owners music magazines Spin and vibe. Spin magazine was realised in 1985 but in 2012 it stopped printing and only runs as a website.

Egmont

Egmont publishes to the UK aimed at children and published as a monthly. The company first started in 1878 in Denmark by a man called Egmont Harald Petersen. They are the biggest publisher in Norway and number 2 in Denmark. Their audience is children aged at 13-15 year olds.

Immediate Media Company

Immediate Media Company publishes the magazine Top Of The Pop but is licence by the BBC. This magazine is published every month and is aimed at girls aged 11-15 and costs about £2.30. The magazine was first realised in 1995 with the genre being pop music, which has lifestyle features including make-up, celebrities and fashion.

TeamRock

TeamRock Company distribute two rock magazines these two magazines are Classic Rock and Metal Hammer. These magazines are both monthly’s. They are both British magazines. Metal Hammer is based around more heavy metal kind of music which includes mainstream band and more unusual types of acts . Metal Hammer (1986) was realised earlier then Classic Rock (1998). They have an awards program called The Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards which was set up in 2004 , the winners would be published in the magazine. TeamRock also have a radio station which is still running today.
