MLP:FiM Club Standards

Our Purpose

Remember that the point of this club is to watch MLP:FiM episodes (eventually), have fun and insightful discussion, enjoy treats made by members of the club, and to overall have a nice, relaxing time after school.

With this in mind, let’s look at some behaviors that are encouraged and others that are not. Afterward, we will address other topics of importance.

Encouraged Behaviors

Contributing to the discussion:Your ideas can help to better the club!Do not be afraid of being judged.Pay attention/listen to others even if you have nothing to say.

Being friendly and open:Get to know anyone you don’t know; make a new friend!Discouraged Behaviors

Having side discussions:Side discussions diminish the group discussion.

Getting off topic:By getting off topic we lose the opportunity to hear what others have to say regarding the previous discussion. It defeats the purpose of the MLP club if we start talking excessively about other things.

On the topic of watching episodes, we established that it’s possible for us to watch episodes on Youtube (of course). However, we would have to use Mrs. Nesbit’s computer and she often does work during club meetings, sooo yeah. I would feel bad asking to use her computer. On that note, I know one member bought the DVD that contains about 5 episodes or something. I myself may get it and then we can watch those episodes in the film room.

For meeting activities, people suggested multiple things. Doing polls and votes on subjects like who we all think is “best pony” (it’s Spike of course, duh… >.> ) which I thought could be fun and could incite some heated debate, heh. People from Anime club contributed a lot of ideas based on things they’re done such as mini contests for artists, a game of pony mafia, other things I can’t recall at the moment… >.< We had also thought of maybe having meetings outside of school at a member’s house to have “pony parties” and watch episodes, etc.

People had expressed a little interest in creating their pony selves and maybe nicknames for club and whatnot. Making T-shirts was also an idea thrown around and if we did that, we could print each person’s pony self and name on the shirt for them. Could be fun.

As for snacks, we concluded that we could decide who brings in food and/or drink on a meeting by meeting basis. We can’t really assign a person to do it each week since we never really know who will be able to show up.

And speaking of meetings and being able to show up, the day of the week will have to be changed from Wednesdays to some other day. Based on the number of people who showed up today, Thursday don’t work too well for most. It seemed that Mondays would be our best option. Everyone concluded that they wouldn’t want to stay after school on Fridays and that on Tuesdays there are some other clubs meeting. Mondays seemed to have the least activities going on. So yeah. That’s that. I believe I covered most of everything we talked about at the meeting.
