Our residents have kept us busy…

We don’t ask that

they learn how to fly,

Only that they be

good little boys and girls

And we just want them to try.

Soooo… Sherlock promises,

promises

Not to break out and go AWOL.

He understands if he continues,

There may be a new BRICK wall!

The game room dogs

promise and promise

To leave space on the couch,

It’s just such fun

to run and jump up,

And hear the people cry “ouch!”

We bought a whole extra section

So there would be more space,

Whoever gets the very best spot

Has won the sofa race.

Curly promises again and again

Not to crow at 3 in the morning.

He’s been scolded numerous times

But he never heeds the warning.

We know he can’t tell day from night

And he really means no harm,

But he’s been told repeatedly

We don’t need that kind of alarm!

Skippy promises to be good,

And not always vie for attention.

We know he will always be a brat

Even when he’s threatened detention.

He thinks he’s cute when he rolls his eyes,

And snuggles between your knees.

He twirls and runs over toes and tails

No matter how much we say, “Please!”

First, let us thank all of you

For making it such a good year.

You were always there for us,

And now we send you cheer!

Out he comes

and eats everything in sight,

Pagodas and camphor trees

(And if they’d sit still long enough,

He’d probably eat our bees!)

It’s great to see him

hang over the fence,

As he smiles and wags his tail,

What’s not so great is to listen to

A hound dog’s perpetual wail!

She promises not to hide in the hedge,

And make us search far and wide.

Somehow she thinks it’s oh, such fun,

To run from us and hide.

And she’s promised to be nice to Misty,

And not fuss over the fence.

She knows Misty prefers the dogs,

And the atmosphere can get tense!

He hates living in the cathouse,

Why? … There are so many cats!

Little does he realize,

He causes all the spats!

Junior promises not to chew up the house

Like the mattresses down to the springs,

Or toys, blankets, and pillows

And anyone’s personal things.

Iris promises to always be sweet

And not to let out a growl.

(At least she has a cool meow,

And not a canine howl.)

Lucy promises to mind her manners,

And not buck ‘til she throws her shoes,

No stealing hay from the back of the truck,

Or when she wears her mask, cry the blues.

Cupcake promises not to sneak out

And go exploring the neighborhood,

Or stroll down the middle of the street.

(It can be hard work to be good.)

Lilo promises to live on and on,

Though she’s had 11 great years.

She knows that she brings us such laughter!

When the time comes, we’ll love through tears.

Yard Sale

We’re having our annual yard sale on Saturday, Mar. 15th, from

9am – 3pm, at 1 Kalamazoo Trail, Palm Coast. There will be lots

of quality items for sale at great prices, including jewelry, tools,

plants, home accessories, toys, stuffed animals, furniture,

quilts/bedspreads, bikes, and much more. And if you’d like to

help by donating any of these items, you can drop them off

Sunday, Mar. 9th – Wednesday, Mar. 12th, either at Journey’s

End in DeLand (please give us a call at 386-736-6396), or at the

Palm Coast address above (please call 386-206-3375). Sorry, we

request no books, clothes, or electronics…they just don’t seem to

sell. This is a great way to find some well-priced treasures (or to

donate some items you no longer need), while benefiting the

animals of Journey’s End.
