Here’s a puzzle…you may think it’s silly.

Can you guess my species? Sometimes I’m called Billy.

I’m a recent resident, or the new kid on the block.

Although I’m cute and fuzzy, I’m solid as a rock.

I’m a bit bigger than Skippy, a lot smaller than Fire.

They all say I’m the smartest, and a real live wire!

I’m white and black with freckles on my nose,

And if you look closely, you’ll see four hooves for toes.

I lived on a farm that had gardens but no pool.

My caregivers were kids who went to high school.

I’m a kid also but am without any mother.

Journey’s End took me in, and one thing led to another.

If I could have three wishes (I hope I’m not getting greedy),

I’d love to sit on a warm, soft lap and be cuddled, because I’m so needy.

If I could have four wishes, maybe a tasty treat and a bone,

Also a couple of four-legged friends, so I won’t be all alone.

If I could have one wish, this is what it would be:

Not to live in the streets anymore, but in a home, safe and free.

If I could have two wishes, guess what I’d ask for?

A clean plate so full of food, I could eat ‘til I wanted no more.

I’m not Shirley Temple, but love animal crackers (sans the soup),

I live in Bo Peep’s Boutique, and not in the chicken coop.

Okay, you’ve waited long enough…let me introduce you to me.

I’m Chuckles the mini-goat and I’m as cute as I can be!

I love to jump around them and play with their ball.

You think that bothers them? It doesn’t at all!

There’s a barrel in my yard; I never did know why,

But watch me roll it around and you’ll laugh ‘til you cry.

My favorite best friends are three big sheep,

And my favorite pastime is to not let them sleep.

I realize I’m younger and have time to grow,

But at their best speed, they’re terribly slow.

If I could have five wishes (you think I’m going too far?),

How about a blanket to sleep on, and a long, long ride in a car.

If I could have six wishes (keep counting, you’re doing well),

I’d feel chipper and happy and dream sweet dreams,

and wouldn’t that be swell?

I’d want to live on a farm here on earth, and pretend I was in heaven.

If I could have eight wishes, I’d want to snooze on a chair or a couch

Or be carried around in loving arms (I’m too big for a doggie pouch).

If I could have nine wishes,

I’d have meds for my only good eye —

Really now, is that wanting too much?

After all, I’m not asking to fly.

If I could have ten wishes, I would think my cup runneth over:

Journey’s End is honored to be included in the upcoming film Our Forever Friends, a beautiful documentary from Blue Heron Pictures International that explores the strong emotional bonds between humans and animals.

It was produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Gary Lester, and features former child super-star Beverly Washburn, whose many credits include Old Yeller, and an appearance as Lt. Arlene Galway on the Star Trek TV series.

The film has already been invited to enter an international film festival in Mumbai, and is under consideration at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. The DVD is expected to be distributed internationally as well as in the US.

The world premiere is at the Cinematique Theater in Daytona Beach at 5:30pm on January 26th. Tickets are still available at this writing…we hope to see you there!
