Bringing something new into being requires creativity, fuel, and

commitment. Plus whole brain thinking; right-brain artistry and

intuition, left-brain logic and planning.

With a determination to spend my gap year constructively my greatest undertakings began with

traveling independently to Australia. After successfully training for a NSCV Commercial Vessels

Qualification, I organized to explore the continent, which provided priceless experiences that above all

developed my confidence, ability to face diversity and interpersonal skills. Activities I treasure in my

life range from adventure such as ice climbing; horse riding; bungee jumping, you name it, those of all

sporting avenues, to painting; reading; dancing, any way I can express my creative eye. Plus I’m always

ready to welcome new challenges and opportunities.

Always in pursuit of improvement various work experience has enhanced bold creativity and visual

interpretation, speed, adaptability, time management and communication. Waitressing during the

Olympics was a one off experience, being so close to the drama and feat of the Olympics was a

privilege, further taking that experience to work with the Dorchester Collection. Volunteering with

Scouts, schools and the University Nursery amplified patience and tolerance. The most enjoyable and

rewarding element is infecting a positive and ‘can do’ attitude to any situation. Also through the last

years I began learning the piano; gained a first aid qualification and joined a drama group that greatly

improved my confidence in communicating effectively to audiences.

Now studying History and English at Loughborough University I focus on immersing myself in my

academic studies; volunteering; raising over £10,000 for charity; being a role model for the university

as a Student Ambassador; have enrolled in the Loughborough employability scheme which recognises

unique qualifications and enhances skills employers seek; been voted a programme representative;

and gained an important position as Vice Chair of Salsa Dance society. Additionally taking my sport to

a new level in the Athletics Union team. I also find time for other societies, including Enactus

(Entrepreneurial Action), TEDex, Snow, and Mountaineering. The perseverance and dedication to

training and improvement are values I use to carry me forward in all areas of my life. My desire to

overcome great challenges also shines through in my adventures including dog-sledging within the

Arctic Circle, successfully climbing Kilimanjaro and completing a Leadership Programme with British

Exploring which required trekking for 6 weeks above 4300m in the Indian Himalayas, as 1 of 12

Trainee Leaders responsible for developing 60 explorers. Securing 1 of 3 places to study in Austria,

2015-July 2016, brought never before faced challenges and monumental changes. Yet with it the

reward of growth, honing intercultural communications in social and business environments,

strengthening my gifts, talents, focus, determination and desire to say “yes, I can do it.”
