When the leaves finally lay on the ground for

the year, the old north wind reigns over the

weather. With flurries; sleet; hail; and a nasty

breeze, we can easily become chilled to the bone.

Without the proper gear, frostbite and

pneumonia can be a dangerous possibility. Since

Squirmy grew up on the tropical planet of

Zarpma, his experience with colder weather is

limited. While walking past the elementary

school on his way home, he is stopped by Mr.

Gordon. Invited inside, Squirmy listens as Mr.

Gordon explains to him, “We want to keep our

students safe and healthy.” Squirmy then went

home and went through his closet to find some

hoodies, scarves, hats, gloves, coats, jeans, and

sweats. The next day Squirmy wore his Warner

hoodie, a scarf, and some jeans to stay cozy for

the whole day.

So, let's learn from Squirmy to stay warm this

winter.

November is

Native American

History Month!

Native American

history is an

important part

of America. It

means even

more to

Oklahomans because our state is home to the five

civilized tribes: the Cherokee, Chickasaw,

Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. The Warner

Native American Student Association (NASA),

pictured above, aims to further their knowledge

about Native American culture and history.

NASA meets every Thursday during high school

lunch to plan events and trips. This includes a trip

to Woolaroc to visit a museum. This trip helped

NASA students learn more about their culture. If

you want to be a part of these fun events, then join

NASA every Thursday. We regret to inform junior

high students that NASA is only available to high

school students.

Football season is a

huge part of a Warner

school year, but as

the football season

comes to a close,

we look forward to

next year. Brody

Cannon, a starting

football player, says,

“I think the year has

been pretty productive. The team has gotten better

each and every game, and we’ve gone a lot farther

than we have in a long time this year. Hopefully

going farther than the third round [of the playoffs],

hopefully we make it to all the way. I think that this

year has really just been good for the tradition of

Warner and building the tradition of going past the

regular season.” The Eagles ended the regular season

with a 6-4 record; however, their season continues in

the third round of playoffs with a game at Pawhuska

on November 27th. The team has worked extremely

hard this year refining their plays. The prospects for

next year are high as well with many talented

athletes coming up from the junior high team. This

football season has been an amazing experience with

multiple wins under the belt. Come support our

Warner football team!

Choir has been working hard on their musical

number “We Three Spies.” At school, they gave a

sample of the humorous Christmas themed

musical, but a larger part of the performance will

be unveiled during the Christmas Extravaganza.

They plan on doing a full rendition for the

elementary. In addition, the musical will be

performed at Warner First Baptist Church on the

evening of December 1st at 7:00. Be sure to watch

your fellow classmates. They just might be a spy in

disguise!

Carson Parks is in the tenth grade. He is in

football, basketball, and golf.

Q: “What is your favorite thing about going to

Warner?” A: “My favorite thing about Warner is

the people and the bonds I have created over the

years.”

Q: “What is your greatest accomplishment?”

A: “My greatest accomplishment as a student at

Warner is setting myself up for success in the

future by making good grades, which will help me

get into college and eventually start a good

career.”

Jaylee Kindred is a senior at WHS who has been

playing basketball since she was in the fourth

grade. Recently, she has signed to play basketball

for Northeastern State University after she

graduates from Warner.

Q: “Would you like for your future career to be

in the field of basketball?” A: “ Yes, but I don't

think I could go past college.”

Q: “What led you to signing a contract to play

with NSU?” A: “When I visited, I met with some

of the girls on the team and felt at home.”

Warner’s Christmas Extravaganza is a time to

have fun with family and friends, playing games

set up by the different organizations in Warner

High School. The Extravaganza is joined with a

Christmas concert by the Warner Marching Band.

In addition, the choir is having a recital to add to

the festivities. The Extravaganza starts at 5:30 pm

at the football field.

Come have some fun at the Warner football field!
