GREETINGS

Hello Division 27, I hope that you had a memorable Fourth of July weekend, and I hope you’ve been soaking up that summer sun! As you enjoy summer vacation, please remember to take care of your health by applying sunscreen, drinking plenty of water, and staying cool. I have just gotten back from International Convention, and believe me when I say that it was an experience like none other! The 2014-2015 international board has been elected, and is featured in this issue of the Toucan Times. The International Board decides things for all of Key Club, and they’re more accessible than you would think! Our new International Trustee will be assigned to us shortly, and their contact information will be included in all future issues of the divisional newsletter. With that being said, congratulations to our district’s very own Kevin Zhang, Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 38, for being elected to the position of International Vice President! This is a great honor, and I wish him the best in his new term. In addition, our very own Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor, Ashley Yoo, has received the Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor award! I am very proud of her, and again I thank her for her contributions to both the division and the district. This is an honor well deserved! As we are getting into the meat of summer vacation, remember that we as Key Clubbers must carry on our duties. Continue serving your community, connecting with your Kiwanis, and, most importantly, having fun. As always, feel free to approach me with any questions or concerns!

With love and in caring service,

Josh Kim

Lieutenant Governor, Division 27

GREETINGS

Hello Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers! Over this past week, I along with 39 other PNW Key Clubbers and six Kiwanis chaperones had the opportunity to attend the 71st annual International Convention in the vibrant city of Anaheim, California. While there, we had the opportunity to attend educational workshops, meet Key Clubbers from across the world, and elect the 2014-2015 Key Club International Board. I am truly humbled and honored to announce that I was chosen out of a field of four other highly qualified candidates to be your next International Vice President. My biggest support throughout the entire journey, from the moment I decided to run until my name was announced on stage, was the entire Pacific Northwest District. So let me take this time to thank every single one of you- all 13,000+ members. It was your support that got me through not only ICON week but the months leading up to it. Thank you to everyone that messaged be “good luck” and to all of those that congratulated me afterwards. Even though many of you did not attend ICON 2014, I still felt as if all of you were alongside me. I look forward to personally thanking many of you as I travel to some of the upcoming area rallies. To all the graduating seniors, even though I will not have the opportunity to serve you for this upcoming year, I hope that many of you will decide to join Circle K in college and eventually Kiwanis. Once again, THANK YOU to the mighty Pacific Northwest District! I look forward to yet another fantastic year of service, friendship, and growth not only for Key Club International but also for our district! In Service,

Kevin Zhang Key Club International Vice President [email protected] 360.250.3999

KEY LEADER WHAT IS KEY LEADER?

Key Leader is a service leadership program created by Kiwanis. At Key Leader, you not only get to develop your leadership skills, but you also get to meet teenagers from

all sorts of different backgrounds

SEATTLE AREA KEY LEADER

WHY SHOULD I DO IT? Being a diverse person is a good thing, and this is the way to do just that! Teenagers from all over will be coming to

connect with strangers, and make newfound friends out of them. PNW District Board members will be in

attendance, as well as Key Clubbers and non-Key Clubbers.

NOVEMBER 7th-9th, 2014 CAMP SAMBICA, BELLEVUE

In the past year, the PNW District has more than tripled the district goal! However, that doesn’t mean that this is the end. With the Eliminate Project officially coming to a close in 2015, there is still a long way to go until the K-

Family reaches the $110 million mark!

“It's raining, it's pouring, and PNW is soaring above the rest, 'cause we're the best, Pacific Northwest!”

In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW). The Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key Club International. The district spans from Western Canada to Northern California: with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the panhandle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes over 300 clubs that operate under 44 divisions. Through rain or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the Pacific Northwest dedicate countless hours to their communities and internationally, and are always Proud 'N' Willing to serve!

~Hey Key Clubbers, how do you feel?~   ******************************************** We feel good! Oh we feel so good! (OH) Double it up! (OH OH) Triple it up! (OH OH OH) One long oh! (OOooooh) Rapper Style! (OH OH OH OH OH) [Division #]! (Twenty Seven!)
