GREETINGS Hello, my fellow Awkward Turtles! I hope

you all are all having a great summer vaca-

tion so far! I know I have. I’ve been busy plan-

ning events such as Portland Rally and the

Seaside Beach Clean-up!

Though we are out for the summer, that

doesn’t mean we stop volunteering. There are

plenty of places and local organizations to

volunteer for! Whether it be a church mission

in a foreign country to build homes, or volun-

teering at your local food bank, I strongly urge

you to take some time out of your break and

donate some hours to bettering our world.

Summer is also prime time for divisional bonding. I strongly encourage

you to come out to the next divisional project and the DCM. Not only will

you learn more about key club WHILE having fun, you will also meet people

from other schools in our division. Whatever you do this summer, don’t be-

come inactive. Summer should be the most active time of the year.

I hope you’re all enjoying your summer. I hope to see your faces at the next

Divisional event! Keep being fly, division 65!

In Love and Service,

Christon Senekham

At Portland Rally, attendees gathered

bearing divisional spirit and pride. The

day was filled with fun, spirit, and ice-

breakers. Officers received formal offi-

cer training led by the Executive District

Board. The rally was about Lighting up

the World with Service, and that’s what

happened. At Portland Rally, we raised

a Grand Total of $1,497.59 for the Elimi-

nate Project—enough to vaccinate 832

mothers and their future children from

acquiring the deadly disease of Mater-

nal/Neonatal Tetanus. Thanks to all the

Awkward Turtles who made the journey

out to Tualatin to attend the Rally.

Hope you had a great time!

We won the spirit stick!

CLUB SPOTLIGHT LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL

Liberty is making quite an appearance within our division. Only a

few weeks ago, I got in contact with Jamie, the president about

getting Liberty Chartered. The board for Liberty is very hopeful,

and dedicated to getting the club its charter. Recently, Liberty

had it’s first introductory meeting with 18 people in attendance

and also a potential faculty advisor. Our division will be holding

the Carwash to help Liberty raise funds to get its charter. Great

work, Liberty!

HILLSBORO KIWANIS PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Key clubbers from the Hillsboro area

helped out alongside with the Kiwani-

ans of Hillsboro to put together a pan-

cake breakfast on 4th of July before

the Parade started! Kiwanis and Key

Clubbers got the opportunity to mingle

with each other all while improving K-

family relations! The pancake breakfast

is one of the Kiwanis Club of Hillsboro’s

largest fundraisers. Key clubbers helped

cooked and served food while having

a great time. Thanks to those who vol-

unteered!

KEY CLUB CHEER

Leader: Hey, Key Clubbers! How do you feel?! Key Clubber: I feel good! Oh! I feel so good! UH! (two fists, elbows tucked, downward arm thrust) Double it up, UH! UH! (two fists, elbows tucked, downward arm thrust) x2 Triple it up, UH! UH! UH! (two fists, elbows tucked, downward arm thrust) x3 One long UH! UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
