The CNH Key Club District Policy, International Business & Elections

Committee is seeking input from our members who have experienced running for a Key Club leadership position. Our intent of collecting this

information is to share your thoughtful testimonials with our fellow members to inspire them to take a risk, move outside their comfort zones, and to seek leadership positions. Well-written and thoughtful responses may be showcased in future district newsletters as well as posted on the CyberKey and other district media sources.

WHEN: APRIL 11-13, 2014

WHY: DISTRICT CONVENTION is one of the BIGGEST Key Club events along with

Fall Rally and International Convention. DCON also allows clubs to receive

recognition!

What is DCON? DCON stands for District Convention, it is a weekend where Key Clubbers from all over the CNH District get to get together and celebrate yet another year of service! At DCON, you also get to

attend leadership workshops and enjoy great food

DCON allows Divisions to complete in a spirit rally on the first day, and allows clubs to get recognitions for what they have completed throughout

the year. There is also a Keynote speaker every year

Why go?

Because DCON is an AMAZING experience! You grow as a Key Clubber and it’s such an important event- it is where the new district board is installed and the current retires.

Haven’t seen the Call to DCON video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0F8K-olJ6U&list=PL1E42047BD7568D35&index=1

Applications can be found on the CyberKey under the Recognition tab; click Recognition Judging, then the Website Judging Application. Or, you can click here. Website judging applications are due this Sunday, November 10th.

District Judging Applications

There are two deadlines for district judging--regular, and on-site. Regular District Judging Applications are due February 1, 2014. On-Site Judging Applications are due March 1, 2014. Though this may sound far away, please encourage the members you serve to apply! District Judging Applications can be found in the same place as Website Judging Applications (here).

Year-Long Recognition

Recognition doesn't just happen at DCON--it's year-long! Remember to recognize the members you serve by filling out the Division Updates for the District Newsletter on the 20th of every month here. Also, utilize the certificates that can be found on the CyberKey. Certificates for division use can be found on the bottom of the Board page on the CyberKey (here). Also, encourage your club officers to recognize members! Certificates for club use can be found on the CyberKey on the Recognition page (here). Recognition is a great incentive for members to work harder and strive for more! It is important to recognize members for all of their hard work.

It's really new terrain o: unlike many of the positions which have been established for years, it's a position that yet has to be sculpted. There aren't many guidelines to the position, so this year is all about making sure those guidelines are set, and doing my best to leave a strong precedent (:

My goals for the year are to help the district as much as I can where I can. There is only so much I can do, unsure of what range this position can accomplish but my hopes are to fulfill a certain task yet a secret to the district (;

It was amazing to be part of that roar during Fall Rally South's Session 2, standing there was breathtaking. I hadn't seen a roar like that in all the years I'd been a member I'm so happy to have been able to call myself a D16 lieutenant governor. I said this at the banquet, but life functions like a wheel sometimes you're at the bottom, sometimes you’re at the top. When you're at the top, enjoy because challenges will come, and know that you're strong enough to succeed. When you're at the bottom, know that with dedication, you can reach the top. Personally, I feel that D16 is once again making its climb to the top and I couldn't be prouder

The reason why I have chosen Livia for the month of October, is due to the active participation she has demonstrated. Beginning with Aids Walk, Livia not only joined key club for her first aids walk as a white tiger but also attended the volunteering an hour before the walk began showing up at the event at 5am. This was definitely an exceptional way of starting off the month; however, Livia was the only participant in our school supply drive. After reaching out to the club with the school supply drive mentioned by Golden Valley HS, Livia donated a full grocery bag full of supplies including pens, pencils, pencil-box, a binder and notebooks. The fact that she was the only person out of the entire club that was willing to donate anything, after it was made clear that even the most insignificant donation was accepted, this is why I felt she need be acknowledged somehow.

Marlon Sevilla from East Valley is Officer of the Month for showing his White

Tiger spirit and pride everywhere he goes. Marlon was the only person from

East Valley who attended Fall Rally. Always turning in his submissions in on

time and asking questions when concerned, Marlon demonstrates all of the

qualities that a White Tiger should have.

Golden Valley For continuing to serve their home, school, and community. Golden Valley

has shown strong Kiwanis Family relations by having their Kiwanis Advisor, Reverend Bob at

just about every one of their meetings. Strong Kiwanis Family relations is something the

district is working towards. Their Kiwanis Advisor, Reverend Bob was also at Fall Rally South

helping out in every way he could. Golden Valley was one of the clubs that had the most

people at Spirit Sessions and let out their mighty ROAR. Oh, and did we mention the

whole baby powder idea was all Golden Valley?

judging, a committee (DJC) must be formed. Prior to

forming a DJC, decide on a deadline for the submission of

applications. So White Tigers, want to help recognize your

fellow White Tigers for working so hard? Then apply to be
