Thanksgiving time. I do this because of what I have in my home. When you go out and better the world in the name of Key Club, I hope that you are going out to better your home, school, and community, but are also thankful for the opportunity to help others, because of the gifts that you have yourself. That being said, I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving, full of fun, feast, and family and friends, in hope that you will remember those who, and what, you are thankful for. I can’t wait to visit your clubs soon, and meet my innie just as soon. Until the DCM, or December. In caring and service, Alex Switzer Lt. So Much To Be Thankful For!
Hello Division 44!
While Halloween has just passed, if you turn on TV or head to a store, you’ll be sure to see some sort of Christmas ad. Mr. Turkey never seems to get the glory that he deserves.
To me, Thanksgiving is more than just a turkey, gravy, stuffing, rolls, etc., but really an opportunity to look at all that you have, and wonder why you’re not doing this each and every day. All that I do for Key Club, and thus others, is because I have so much, and my being can help others. As I go out into my school or community in order to make it a better environment for all, I know that this might be something that they’ll be thankful for come
DCM? What’s a DCM? It’s a Divisional Council Meeting, Silly! Representatives from each of the six clubs all meet together at this meeting to discuss items for all of the division. These are also times to ask questions and get to know your fellow officers at the other schools. Not to mention eat delicious frozen yogurt at Menchies!
This month, there will be quite a bit to talk about as the holiday season rolls around; the Lt. Governor Elections are right around the corner as well. We’ll also cover more dues information, since according to International, no Division 44 Clubs have paid their dues. Please try to get an officer from you club in attendance, or LET ME KNOW BEFORE HAND! See you on the 17th!

It JUST happened!
YAY! Key Club! Key
Club week is over,
but Kiwanis Family
Month Continues!
What did I do for Key Club week? Well, each day for the
week during, but also before and after, I wore a different Key
These are extremely important, and help us to keep track of each
of the clubs in our division. Thank you guys for your help!
:)
Each year, Key Club has worked with Kiwanians during Walk and Knock. This event is actually three separate events, two days of bag folding, and then the actual event. During bag folding, we help to fold the bags and insert fliers about Walk and Knock. These bags are then distributed the days before Walk and Knock via the local papers! This allows everyone in the community to help! The day of the actual event, we all gather together, and either go collect food, or stay back and help pack the food into boxes. If you’re interested, please let me know, and I’ll talk with Kiwanians (or feel free to talk to them directly!) about where they’ll be meeting! Expect more information later in the month.
that relates to an event that has happened recently. This month, it will be the Presidential Election. I’ll try to keep this as unbiased as possible, while also relating it.
On November 6th, the United States, and the world, held its breath as the American People voted for the new leader of the free world. Going in, everything indicated that the race would be extremely close, with no clear winner. At the nights end, the President was re-elected, and the American people had decided. The loser conceded, and the day went on.
Now, as my term comes to an end, we know that I won’t be elected, but some other Key Clubber will lead the Division, and could possibly be a leader of the Pacific Northwest.
I encourage anyone who thinks that they can better the division to run, as that’s what the position is about. Even if you don’t get the position, you’ll have the chance to go on and better your club. Becoming LtG might not seem like much, it will leave you with memories and friendships that will carry on. If you have any question, please ask me! (And yes, I did compare being Lt. Governor to the President of the United States of America. )
