3. AGRICULTURE LIVE STOCK RESOURCESIntroduction
Before 1990 40% of the people 0f this area were involved in Agriculture and Animal husbandry for their income. Now most of the people are involed in paddy cultivation during the rainy season. This area has low water availability, infertile soils and irregular Rain fall. So these factors discourage the culitivators. In 1990, this area was affected by ethnic war & that coursed continuous displacement to India. Even now the people of this area are not resettled completely in their native places. In addition, water reservoirs & channels are damaged & filled with soil. Due to this soil erosion may occur. But now resettlement is carried out by the Government & Non Government organizations in some parts. At the same time some N.G.Os & Government sectors also reconstruct and repair the water reservoirs (Ponds) with channels to improve agriculture sector.
