ABSTRACT Rismon. 2012. Increasing the Competence of Junior High School Teachers of Sports in Indralaya through Lesson Study. Thesis. Graduate Program. State University of Padang. One of the efforts to increase learning quality can be done by increasing teachers‟ competence. One of teacher‟s continuous development model is Lesson Study. This research aimed at increasing Junior High School teachers‟ of Sports competence in planning, teaching, and evaluating through Lesson Study. This research had been done for three months. The subjects of this research were 24 Junior High School teachers of Sports in Indralaya in two cycles and each cycle consisted four steps; planning, implementing and observing as well as reflection, Instruments used were Lesson Study observation sheet, APKG -1 and 2, and interview. The data from Lesson Study observation sheet and interview were analyzed by using descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The data from APKG 1 and 2 were analyzed in descriptive quantitative using the formulas. The results of this research indicated that through the three steps in Lesson Study (PLAN, DO, SEE), teachers‟ competence in planning and teaching could increase. After analyzing APKG -1, teachers‟ competence in planning the lesson increased from 2.8 in the first cycle to 3.2 in the second cycle. The teachers‟ competence in teaching and evaluating students also increased from 3 in cycle 1 to 3.4 in cycle 2. From the interview, it was found that there were three factors that increased teachers‟ competence. They are teachers‟ routine meeting and discussion about teaching and students‟ learning, the spirit of togetherness and self-introspection that the teachers have in doing Lesson Study.

ABSTRAK

Rismon. 2012. Peningkatan Kemampuan Guru Pendidikan Jasmani,

Olahraga, dan Kesehatan SMP Kecamatan Indralaya melalui Lesson Study.

Tesis. Program Pascasarjana, Universitas Negeri Padang.

Salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dapat dilakukan

dengan peningkatan kemampuan guru. Salah satu model peningkatan kemampuan

guru secara berkelanjutan adalah Lesson Study. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk

meningkatkan kemampuan guru Penjasorkes SMP kecamatan Indralaya dalam

merencanakan, melaksanakan dan menilai pembelajaran melalui Lesson Study.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan dengan subyek penelitian

sebanyak 24 orang guru Penjasorkes SMP kecamatan Indralaya dengan dua siklus

dan setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan

pengamatan, serta refleksi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi

Lesson Study, APKG-1 dan APKG-2, serta pedoman wawancara. Data yang

diperoleh dari lembar observasi Lesson Study dan wawancara dianalisis dengan

deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data yang diperoleh dari instrument APKG 1

dan 2 dianalisis dengan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rumus yang telah ditetapkan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui tiga tahap dalam Lesson

Study (PLAN, DO, dan SEE), kemampuan guru dalam merencanakan,

melaksanakan dan menilai pembelajaran meningkat. Dengan analisis APKG-1,

kemampuan merencanakan pembelajaran meningkat dari 2,8 pada siklus 1 hingga

3,2 pada siklus 2. Demikian pula dengan kemampuan melaksanakan dan menilai

pembelajaran, dengan menganalisis APKG-2, kemampuan melaksanakan dan

menilai pembelajaran pun meningkat, dari 3 pada siklus 1 hingga 3,4 pada siklus

2. Ada tiga faktor yang menyebabkan peningkatan kemampuan guru melalui

Lesson Study, yaitu: pertemuan rutin dan diskusi tentang pembelajaran, semangat

kebersamaan dan introspeksi yang dimiliki guru-guru peserta Lesson Study.
