ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORSBETTY ANGLIN holds a BA degree in Art from W&M and has been teaching watercolor over 40 years.

PATRICIA BIELA is a UVA grad with a BA in psychology, teaches poetry and has participated in 18 creative writing workshops.

EMILY CHRISTOFF FLOWERS has BFA from Bowling Green SU. and is a Pastel Society of America member.

HOLLAND WENTZ ETHERIDGE holds a BA in Fine Arts from W&M and has 5 years teaching experience.

JAMES WARWICK JONES received his BS in Art Education from ODU and has 45 years of teaching experience.

POETRY WORKSHOP 18+Students will be taken through a journey of poetic discovery by discussing, reading, writing and workshopping poetry. There will be teacher and peer review of poems written in class with great care. Poems discussed will come from a myriad of poets and will range in form and subject matter. Assignment examples include, but are not limited to, discussing, reading, writing, and workshopping ekphrastic poetry- responding to art in the gallery and beyond. Students may work from their own original photographs, still life set ups, drawings or their imagination. Or they may choose to paint along with the instructor using the same reference photos and composition. Class fee includes most materials but students must provide their own pastels.
