Tipoff from Neal Fieldhouse in Greencastle is at Noon. Birmingham-Southern won the first meeting this year by a 74-66 score on December 6 which was DePauw’s last loss. In that game, Brooke Os- borne led the Tigers with a career-high 16 points and Ellie Pearson grabbed eight rebounds. Alex Adams paced the Panthers with 18 points and eight rebounds. DePauw enters the game ranked 17th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll and 16th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll. The Tigers are 21-3 overall, 14-1 in the SCAC and on a 17-game win streak after Friday’s 64-44 win over Rhodes. Brooke Osborne led DePauw with 13 points, while Ellie Pearson grabbed eight rebounds. DePauw has wrapped up the top seed in the SCAC Eastern Division for next weekend’s SCAC Tournament and clinched their ninth straight 20- win season and 13th in the last 14 years. DePauw enters the game with a 48-game home win streak and a 65-game string during the regular season (excluding NCAA postseason). The Tigers have won 53 straight SCAC home contests. Emily Marshall and Katie Aldrich each score 9.9 points per game, while Jenna Fernandez fol- lows with 9.0. Marshall leads the team with 9.5 rebounds and Kate Walker dishes out 2.9 assists. Os- borne paces the team with 46 three-pointers and Lauren Goff follows with 40. The Tigers entered the week as the nation’s leader in rebound margin (+16.1), ranked sixth in fewest turnovers per game (14.3) and seventh in scoring margin (+20.6). Birmingham-Southern is 13-11 overall and 7-8 in the SCAC after Friday’s 73-54 loss at Centre. Katelyn Wilson led the Panthers with 15 points, while Alex Adams had eight rebounds and four assists. The Panthers got off to a 7-3 start but dropped six straight and have now won six of their last eight. Adams leads the Panthers with 12.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per outing while Wilson chips in 10.6. Sam Davidson averages a team-best 2.5 assists per contest. The Panthers are an NCAA Division III provisional member and are not eligible for the NCAA postseason. Sincethebeginningof the1995-96season,theTigershaveamasseda332-66recordforan.834winningpercentagewhichistopsamongallNCAAinstitutionsinIndianaandisfourthamongthenation’sDivisionIIIschools. Huffmanledthe2008-09Tigerstoa22-6overallrecord,asixthstraightappearanceintheNCAADivisionIIIChampionshipandninthinthelast13seasons.The20-pluswinseasonwastheTigers’eighthstraightand12thinthelast13years. In 2004-05,Huffman led theTigers to the top seed in the SCACChampionshipafterfinishingwiththebestregularseasonrecordinconferenceplay.TheTigersfinishedsecondintheSCACtournamentandearnedanat-largebidtotheNCAAChampionship.Theyfinished23-6afterfallingtoCalvininthesecondround. In2003-04,HuffmandirectedtheTigerstotheSCACtitle,aberthintheNCAAtournamentandaschoolrecord-tying26wins.HuffmanwasnamedtheSCACCoachof theYearforthethirdtimewhichalsomarkedherfifthconferencecoachof theyearhonoroverall. Duringthe2000-01campaignsheledtheTigerstoatri-SCACchampionship,wastheSouthRegionCoachof theYearandafinalistforDivisionIIICoachof theYearforthesecondtimeinthreeseasons. The1999-2000Tigersnotchedafourthconsecutive20-winseasonandsharedtheSCACtitlewithHendrix.Theyalsoextendedtheirconferencewinstreakto43gamesandsetanSCACrecordwith25consecutivewinsinthatconference. In1998-99,theirfirstseasonasmembersof theSCAC,theTigersfinishedwithaperfect18-0conferencerecordandathirdappearanceinfouryearsintheNCAADivisionIIIChampionship.TheTigers,seededfirstintheSouthRegion,wonasecond-roundhomegameoverAustinCollegebeforebeingeliminatedintheroundof 16byeventualnationalrunner-upSt.Benedict.The22-5seasonalsoincludedaschool-record17-gamewinstreak. HuffmanledtheTigerstoathenschool-record22winsagainstjustfourlosses in1996-97as theOldGoldshared the IndianaCollegiateAthleticConferencetitlewithHanover. Duringthe1995-96season,HuffmanwasnamedtheICACCoachof theYearafterdirectingtheTigerstoa19-7recordandtheteam’sfirstappearanceintheNCAADivisionIIItournament. InherfirstseasoninGreencastle,sheledtheTigerstoa12-12finishandatieforsecondplaceintheICAC. Anativeof FortDodge,Iowa,HuffmanwasnamedMissBasketball inIowafollowinghersenioryearinhighschoolwhensheledherteamtoastatechampionship.ShethenmovedontoDivisionINorthernIowawheresheplayedbasketballandearnedabachelor’sdegreeincommunityhealtheducation. She still is thePanthers’ career three-point recordholderwitha .483percentage,isthirdwithan.817careerfreethrowpercentageandrecordedtheonlytriple-doubleinschoolhistorywith12points,10reboundsand10assistsagainstEasternIllinoisonJanuary31,1986.Huffmanfinishedasthesecondall-timeleadingscorerinschoolhistorywith1,294pointsandstillrankssixth.Her322careerassistsstillrankfifth. SheremainedatUNIandreceivedamaster’sdegreeinhealtheducation.HuffmanisalsoanIowaWomen’sBasketballHallof Fameinductee. HuffmanservedasanassistantcoachatWartburgCollegewhereshehelpedthemtofourstraightappearancesintheDivisionIIItournament.
