• CMLS Changes Square-Footage Display effective March 27– You must still measure the house!– Listing input will still be a fixed footage– Range formula: 10% down and 5% up, each rounded to the nearest
hundred– Relying on square footage to price a home ignores other factors such
as; location, lot, amenities, age/condition of improvements, and updates (especially kitchens and baths).
– Other markets have been using this method since 2000
• Most home sales are based on whether a property meets the buyer’s needs, not specific square footage.
