The Code is supported by the Unit of Competency CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry. This unit is included within the CPC08 Construction Training Package, enabling delivery within the VET sector.

As well as a nationally recognised training program, general induction training has a requirement that all elements in the unit of competency are assessed.
Site specific and Task specific induction training have no formal training or assessment requirement. However, an employer is under a ‘duty of care’ under the OH&S Act to provide employees with information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to perform their work safely.
Induction training falls into three categories:• General induction• Site specific induction• Task specific induction
