Description of The Activiy
Background :
Smoking has been a big issue in Indonesia, where the number of active smokers getting bigger every year, including children below 5 years old. This smoking habit has been inherited from generation to generation. With the growing number of active smokers, BEM KMFA UGM in collaboration with other healthcare students such as Dentistry and Nursery students conducted a World No Tobacco Day in Kelurahan Sardonohardjo, where we can help people directly
Aims :
Inform the danger of smoking
Inform the disease caused by smoking habit
Inform many disease related to lungs
Increase public awareness about the danger of smoking
Giving medical check up to people
Giving free consultation with pharmacists and doctors
Giving free medication
Methods and used tools/materials :
Publication: spread flyers and posters to the Sardonohardjo citizens a week before the event, hung a big banner on the side of the road
Event: one of our professor gave a lecture about the danger of smoking, diseases caused by smoking, disease related to

lungs, tips and tricks to quit smoking
Medical check up: in collaboration with other organisation and healthcare students to perform a medical check up which consist of blood pressure test, blood glucose level test, counseling about healthy environment, counseling about mouth and teeth’s health
Invited two doctors to give health diagnosis to people in Sardonohardjo
Results :
The event started at 08.00 AM in the morning but onyly a few people who registered themselves to get a medical check up and listen to the lecture. Around 09.00 AM the lecture was started and the citizens were giving good feedback. On 11.00 AM after the lecture people lined up to do the medical check up and also to counsel with a doctor and pharmacist. Children also involved in this event, we prepared many traditional games for children to play and played a video about pharmacists profession. We gave out doorprizes such as water dispenser, iron, fan, and other household equipments. It all went well without any particular obstacle and difficulties, until at 05.00 PM we held a mini soccer tournament among the youths who live in Sardonohardjo. People said this was a very good social event, we inform them about many health issues regarding smoking habit and lungs, and they could get medication for free. We need to spread more publication materials to reach more people

Comments and/or ideas arising from the activity :
It is need to put a big effort on publication to reach many people so that this activity could impact many people. This kind of activity also is a great opportunity to establish a
mutual interprofession collaboration among healthcare students and profession. We can see doctors, nurses, dentists, and pharmacists work together to improve public health. To see other people’s happy faces when taking part in the activity, it’s just
priceless
