Day stations on the 100th day of school on January 31st. We are in need of

glitter glue and fruit loops. If you are

interested in donating these items please just

send them to school with your child.

This week we learned…Word Work/Writing:This week in spelling we got new words and started practing sorting them. In writing we reviewed our expectations in writing workshop. We reviewed the different nonfiction text features and got to to a nonfiction text feature scavenger hunt with a parner.Reading: This week in reading we reviewed our expectations in reading workshop. We talked about all the thinking that happens during reading and how it’s important to stop and record this thinking to help us better understand what’s going on in the text. We got to use sticky notes to write down our questions we had while reading books from our book tubs. We then learned what a deep question is.Math:In math we starting unit 5. We start learning about place value and practiced this by using rods and cubes. We are working mostly in the ones and tens place but also started talking about the hundreds place. We learned that when you have 10 cubes (ones) you can exchange them to get one rod (tens).Social Studies/Science:
