anadultmaleSabaAnole(Anolis sabanus)withaconspecificjuvenileinitsmouth(Fig.1).Whenfirstseen,thejuvenilewasstillalive,butitshowednosignsoflifeastheadultcar-rieditawayafterbeingdisturbedbyourpresence.Wedidnotobserveingestion.Thisisthefirstreportofcannibalisminthisspecies.CannibalismisnotuncommoninWestIndiananoles(Gerber1999,HendersonandPowell2009),with18(now19)speciesknowntoeatconspecifics(Table1).
