C. Continuethestepsofopeningoutpatchwork,selectingthenextseamtobesewn,foldingthepreviously
attachedhexagoninhalf,thenmatchingtheedgesofthenexthexagons,andstitchingfromonefoldedseamallowanceedgetothenextcorner.Whenentirerowisjoined,pressallseamsopen.

HEXAGON METHOD 2 – MACHINE PIECING FOR CONFIDENT PIECERS
Youarenotmarkingeachhexagon.Beforeyoustartsewing,besureyourmachineorfoothasaclearlymarked1/4"seamallowancemark.Match2hexagons,rightsidestogether.Startandstopsewing1/4"fromeachend.Cutthread.Donotpress–afinalpressingwillbedonewhenthesewingiscomplete.Whenjoiningrowsorfittingpiecesintoamedallion,keeptheopen,unsewnendsoutofthenextseam.Addeachhexagoninrowsorinamedalliononeatatime.Matchingrawedges,pin,keepingthe1/4"seamatstartingandstoppingpointsoutoftheway,sewinplace.Withexperience,youcanendaseamwiththe“needledown”position,pivot,matchandpinthenextseam,andcontinuesewing.
B. Placeseveralpinsperpendicular(atrightangles)tothemarkedseamline.Foraccuracy,checkthatthesepinspiercethroughmarkedlinesonbothlayers.Sewseamfromdottodot,backstitchingateachend,andremovingpinsasyoustitch.Trimthreadtailsandpressseamopen.

Whenjoiningrowsorfittingpiecesintoamedallion,keeptheopen,unsewnendsfrombeingsewnintothenextseam.Manipulatethecornersandrawedgessotheymatch.Pinatthecornerdots,andsewfromdottodot.Tackorknottoendstitching.Clipthread.Checktherightsideofyourfabricstokeepupwiththedesign.
Withsomepractice,thenexthexagoncanbeaddedasfollows:aftertacking,donotclipthread–matchnextseamline,pindots,andsewfromdottodot.Anextrabackstitchortackcanbeaddedtothebeginningorend.
