serger? Learn how as you create this fun double zippered bag! Sewing Supplies:
• 4 cones serger thread all the same color to match the fabric. • Double eyed needle • Rotary Cutter • Pins or clips (example Wonder Clips). • Fray Check • Piping foot/Zipper foot.
Fabrics:
• 2 Fat quarters (1 for outside and 1 for lining) • 12” of 1/8” wide ribbon (for the zipper pulls) • Two 14” or longer all-purpose polyester zippers.

10. Place the notched section under the presser foot. 11. Make certain that the zipper teeth are under the groove of the presser foot. 12. Hold on to the tape part of the zipper that extends behind the presser foot.
Begin serging slowly helping the “sandwich” get started if necessary. When the zipper moves easily under the presser foot it is OK to let go of holding the back of the zipper tape.
13. The serger knife will trim some of the zipper tape off. 14. When you reach the end of the fabric and before you get to the zipper
bottom stop, angle the zipper to the left and serge off.
15. Close the zipper and let the lining and outside show right side out. This makes it easier to line up the fabrics for the opposite side of the zipper.
16. Bring the bottom edge of the lining up to the
top edge of the zipper. The right side of the lining will be to the wrong side of the zipper.
17. Place the right side of the 5 ½“ x 9” rectangle
of outside fabric to the right side of the closed zipper’s top edge. The zipper will be sandwiched between the 2 fabrics.
the zipper. 20. Close the zipper and let the lining fold down
towards the long end of the outside fabric rectangle.

Place the remaining lining rectangle 20 ½” x 9” on top of the zipper. The zipper is sandwiched between the two fabrics and the fabrics are right sides together.
22. Open out the zipper and serge the zipper in place.
23. Close the zipper. 24. Open the lining to lay flat.
