CENTRO TERRITORIAL DE INNOVACIÓN Y FORMACIÓN
Centro Territorial de Innovación y Formación Madrid-Oeste (Madrid-Oeste Territorial Centre for Innovation and Professional Development) was created by Decree 73/2008, 3 July, (BOCM 14 July), its goal being to carry out teacher professional development activities previously approved by the Regional Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. These activities are intended mainly for in-service teachers at state and state-funded schools as well as for other professionals working in support teams and services located in the regional area where the Centre is situated.
This Centre is attached to Dirección General de Innovación, Becas y Ayudas a la Educación.
Within its scope of action, its key functions will be to:
a. Coordinate and manage the development activities included in its work programme.
b. Detect and collect teacher training needs in schools inside its scope of action and suggest development activities as a response to those needs.
c. Advise schools on the development of the syllabuses for the different education stages.
d. Support school teachers by providing them with documentation, materials and teaching resources.
e. Promote teacher development activities designed to encourage teaching innovation and investigation, specially concerning subject teaching didactics.
