So what is this “oppression” we are fighting?

• Oppression is: o when a person or group in a position of

power controls the less powerful in cruel and unfair ways

o a sense of being weighed down in body or mind

o the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions or people, and anxiety.

So what can we do to overcome oppression?

• Speak out against wrong or unfair things

• Stand up for ourselves

• Remain positive

• Don’t give in to oppressive situations
