We have completed our second stretch and moving into the nal stretch of 2013. Much has been said about our performance this year through a number of numerous meetings with our parent company and at JCorp level. Local front encountered stiff competition and it will continue in our goal of increasing our market shares in the country. The machinery need to be oiled and synchronised at regulated intervals to ensure that we are on track and able to overcome the obstacles laid in front of us.
We are doing quite well in our quest of achieving our 2013 KPIs through continu-ous monitoring of our operational performance at the respective car parks nationwide. Another distinct point is the way that we are managing our current issues with the Landlords/Owners. The right approach that we adopted in our continuous discussions seems to steer us right to the desired objectives.
The level of maturity in our people is the asset in our never ending strives of maintaining our position as the industry leader in the country. The right blend of people and systems will ensure the continuity of our leadership hold in this highly competitive and volatile environment.
On international front, the Group is facing with inconsistency performances which could be due to local factors, and changes in the respective government policies. The Group will assess each country on their own merit and will not generalise the whole into one. Each country will have their issues in managing their operations and it can come in various forms, i.e. funding, competitors, new government policy, internal issues, etc. Nonetheless the Group will scrutinise each of the entities to ensure that the issues can be mitigated and not jeopardise the overall objectives of the Group.
Hopefully in this nal stretch of 2013 we will see the company clocking and recording new milestones to the envy of our chasing competitors. For this to happen, the need of everyone to realign their mindset is of tremendous important. So Metromites, let us put aside our indifferences and unite to see the materialisa-tion of our vision to be the No. 1 again and again in years to come….

NOTE FROMTHE GROUPGENERALMANAGER
Hj Ab Rashid Bukhairah
Dear Fellow Metromites,
Our progress for 2013 locally and internationally has been quite predictable. We experience minimal growth in trying to increase our market share and outpacing our nearest competitor. The business development team need to be more vigilant and chameleon in nature so that it can adapt to the requirements and changing rules as and when required. Anticipating changes and understanding different business platforms is a “must-know-how” for the team to ensure success. We may need to revamp our current business model since “change” is the only thing consistent where else everything in this world changes. The only difference is the pace of these changes depending on the industry they are in. Though it might be bitter but we may need to swallow it and come to our senses that would be the best prescription for us in taking a giant leapt forward.
Secondly our nancial resource is another determinant factor in moving into the niche environment. The evolving nature of business from “manual - semi auto- fully auto” would need a substantial investment to execute it. Funding needs to be sourced and good practices of cash-ow manage-ment need to be benchmarked and adopted. Internal systems need to be overhauled too in ensuring a uniform and consistent practices embrace and practise.
In moving into this direction the human resource development planning need to play a major role. The upgrading of the people knowledge and skill must go hand-in-hand with the shift into technology-driven environment. Identication of intervention either through training, mentor-mentee, on-the-job or project-oriented must be planned by the human resource department. The balance of workforce after automation can be reassigned to other sites and departments.
In a nutshell all these factors are vital and need to be approached with delicate touch and tting planning. Executing the plans will be another benchmark where the precision in doing so will be the hallmark of the success story. The Group with the helm at DR Bhd will need to carry out in-depth analysis in prioritising the activities so as it is manageable and proper monitoring can be done at specied intervals.
With the nal lap towards the end of 2013 the Group is quite optimistic that current KPIs can be achieved. With total commitment from everyone ground up, the tasks facing us is surmountable. We hope to see new milestones being chipped in our endless journey to formidable growth in years to come. I trust that with all of your support and dedication this is a small step for us to conquer yet again.
All the best to everyone! May we receive the blessings from Allah All-Mighty.
